My Complaint is about JB ARCHITECTURE GROUP, INC.located at. *****************************. **********, ** *****. Back in 2021 we were moving from CA and was looking to build the home in ********. We were introduced to ********************* owner and Architect of JB Architecture Grp. We looked at few lots and finally decided on 1 and signed contract with JB and sent ********* deposit per the contract. Unfortunately our deal fell apart and we decided not move **************** a home but purchased already built home. We have notified *** about the same. He now is refusing to refund out money. I am in very much need of the money in requesting your **** to step in and help. Thank you so muchBusiness response

The Isrars contracted with my firm to help them secure a property to build a home on. I personally invested my time in visiting 3 different properties, evaluating each one for them to make their decision on which one to purchase. Our fees for this work totaled $5,186.50. Upon their selection, they directed me to prepare a preliminary schematic drawing for the design of a rather large home to make sure they could build their dream home on this lot. The total for this fee was $3,559.60. So our total investment in their project totaled $8,746.10. All of this work was completed before they informed me that the deal fell through. I offered at that time to refund the difference. They wanted the full $10,000 refunded. This was back in August of 2021, and hadn't heard back from them until late last year. They reiterated their demand, and again I offered my original refund. There was no response from them until a week ago where again they demanded the refund, this time wanting to settle for no less than $7,000. I offered them a refund of $3,000, but she would not accept that and threatened to turn me in to the State and BBB. She still wants $7,000 returned to her.
My offer of $3,000 would still stand if they would settle this matter and cancel the complaint.
Can someone from your office please phone me to discuss further? I do have questions for the BBB in terms of your protocol.

Hello.I am sorry I was traveling so could not respond earlier. I totally disagree with info the ** provided. My contract never said he would charge for site visits. Thats part of the job before someone take over to make sure they can do that. We have seen couple lots before we finalized this one so he did go. But never said he would charge. He said he has to examine the lot 1st before he takes the contract. Also he did not do enough work to charge ** that big amount. I would like to bring this to BBB attention that he is fraud. Worst architect company we came across. I would request BBB to please help ** get our money as we are in need of. Thanks so much.Sent from my iPhone

It is extremely difficult for me to want to settle this amicably when the client continues to slander me and my company, when we have done nothing wrong. They hired us to design their home prior to them having secured a property, which was their risk.
The visits and evaluation of all of the lots were requested and, had they proceeded forward to continue to engage me in completing the design of their home, the cost for this work would have been absorbed in our overall agreed to fee structure. Since the contract was terminated, I only invoiced for the work we did at that point, which is normal and customary. We also had to spend considerable time for the initial design, as the home they were wanting was rather large, and the lot they chose was a uniquely shaped, challenging lot. The village also has a lot of highly involved building and zoning requirements that must be assessed, even at a very early stage of design. Again, I only invoiced for the work we had performed.
Even though I am under no obligation to offer any more of a refund than I previously did, ($3,000), I will increase the offer to $4,000 just to make this go away. This is my final offer, which I believe is extremely fair.
