On 2/13/23 Wheatland Dental performed a retainer crown implant procedure for my wife. At the time the balance due was $4,151 and was paid in full and a temp was implanted. We went back on 3/7/23 for the permanent implant to be put in and paid the fee for the implant to be matched. On 4/4 we returned for check up and cleaning. We paid $223. At no point were we told there was any balance on the account. A statement was sent to me on 4/21/23 for $1,277.00. This 9 page statement showed all billing starting back on 2/6/2019. I called for clarification and was told the office manager would return my call, as the staff couldn't understand the charges. I never got a call back so I called again. This time I was told this was in review for insurance. This is odd as we pre-submitted our claim prior to the initial procedure to ensure coverage. I called again and was told this bill was under review because they did not know why it was sent. Since then, I have called back 4 additional times. Each time being told the office manager would call back. I have not received a call. I want to know what is going on with this bill as I keep getting notices in the mail. At this point I don't think I should have to pay anything as I am the only one trying to solve their billing issues, but at least start with a phone call.Business response

Hello,
In order for us to discuss any information on this platform, we will need the attached HIPAA release form to be signed. This will be escalated to our new office manager and billing team as well.

I required dental implants and called several businesses for a free consultation. I only went to businesses that had feee consultations. As the implants are very expensive, I could only go to practices that had free consultations as evidenced by the other Doctors I consulted with. I called Wheatland Dental and was advised the consultation was free and scheduled an appointment accordingly. They told me that I had to keep a credit card on file with my paperwork. After my consultation when I received my credit card statement, I learned Wheatland Dental Care had charged my credit card for $355 without my authorization or consent. I believe Wheatland falsely told me the consult was free so I would come in for a consult and they could fraudulently charge me. I am shocked this dental practice would take advantage of an 81 year old man. In my declining age and health, it is a shame I would be preyed upon.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: You do not require a HIPAA to discuss a consult fee I was not to be charged. The status of my health is not in question. What is in question, is being wrongly charged when I was told it was a free consult. That is the scope of this complaint.
Sincerely,
