      took my motorcycle to this repair place for oil change in March 2021--still has it found issues gave him $5000 and he has tore motorcycle apart & can not fix it. I want $35,000 for no motorcycle for 15months & a tore up harley davidson that ran fine when took to his shop!

      Mr. ********* brought me his motorcycle as it was scheduled for a full service. During drop off, he added that he would like me to figure out why his front cylinder was leaking oil at the base gasket. I informed him that we are extremely busy, as we are a small business, but I would try to squeeze it in. After removing the cylinders, I informed Mr. ********* that his motor would need to be disassembled completely and have the crankshaft replaced due to excessive wear, please see the attached invoice for further details. Also, at this time, Mr. ********* was informed that I would not have time to do the job until this coming winter at the earliest. Over the winter, I got the crankshaft replaced, motor back in the frame, and everything else assembled. When I went to prime the oiling system, I noticed that I was not building proper oil pressure. Mr. ********* was informed that I was working on it, but that I had a problem. I then disassembled the cam side of the motor to inspect the oil pump and cam plate. I found that the cam plate check valve was not sealing properly. I replaced the check valve. At that time I assembled the motor, tested for oil pressure, and began to run heat cycles. During the testing of the motor I noticed a slight haze upon start up. It was determined that the valve guide seals had been damaged on install. Mr. ********* was again informed of the status of his project. I then removed the heads, replaced the valve guide seals, and all new top end gaskets. The motor was tested again. No smoke, good oil pressure, all good. Then I test rode the bike for about 100 miles to ensure proper operation. No leaks found, motor runs great. I was never asked for a refund, or told of any other complaints, or legal action. This complaint from Mr. ********* is nothing more than an impatient customer that could not come to me with a complaint first. His bike was not tore up. It did not run fine when it got here. He did not give me $5,000, he gave me $3,500 and still has a balance of around $1,000. Now it runs like it should, with no leaks or imminent catastrophic failures. As far as the time that the bike was in my shop, Mr. ********* was informed every step of the way. At no point did he even come out to my shop to check on it. All I ever received was the occasional phone call, which I always answered or returned the call in a timely manner.
