I have been over paying for their products for years because they promised to replace an item if it failed. We bought an automatic jar opener that stopped working. Because of my wifes arthritic hands we returned the item and were, after 2 months that they would send us a replacement after we paid an additional $23.99! I went to Amazon and bought the same item for $23.99!DO NOT BE TRICKED BY HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER!

Truth in Advertising! Ordered a Canadian hemlock potting bench, it is not hemlock , it is cedar. I am allergic to cedar.

I have NEVER EVER had such a horrific buying experience. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CRIMINALS. HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER knowingly sells broken AND dysfunctional merchandise. On December 10, 2023, I ordered 4 Christmas swags and 1 chimney ******** All 5 of 5 items had broken bulbs, limbs, and beads AND all 5 of 5 had non-functional electrical components. It'd be one heckuva coincidence for 5 of 5 separately packaged and shipped boxes to all be broken AND dysfunctional. Today is 2/27/24, and after 12 phone calls to Hammacher, I still have not been credited the accurate amount. EVERY time I call, I'm outright lied to regarding the amount credited back to the credit card. And as a result of their land of misfit merchandise, I have spent hours on hold and days waiting for the promised, "call back within 24 hours," which never takes place. HS keeps zero notes on consumer calls, so you get to start the glorious explanation **************** AGAIN. To date, they have not issued the accurate amount and clearly cannot perform simple math. Another 1 HOUR and 5 MINS spent today explaining math to a Hammacher agent. I'm giving up, their obvious goal, which is the only way they can possibly have revenue. I'll let AMEX handle this. I'll let the BBB put them out of business. If you are lucky enough to be reading this before placing your 1st order with HS, you dodged a bullet. If you're reading this because you, too, are dealing with the same criminals the rest of us are (see every review ever posted), I HIGHLY recommend you immediately contact your credit card company and add a "MERCHANT BLOCK" to your account or they WILL BILL YOU another $13.95 per month for a subscription, which is not disclosed to you, you can't see, and didn't agree to, which shockingly has nothing to do with my original dispute. Despite admitting fault, and the inability to do simple math (this is what I was charged = the amount to be credited), Hammacher Schlemmer is a company doing business as liars and thieves. RUN.

Horrific customer service. Do not buy. No emails, no customer service, and no ********.

They sell junk merchandise. I thought they were reputable because of the age of their business and great presentation .... wish I would have looked here .... I don't understand why they have an A+ rating with ALL THE BAD REVIEWS : (. They did resolve my issue but I was out $20+ shipping and it took the entire month of January - I recieved my credit in Febuary. Sad that such an old company has lowered their standards but not their prices.

The quality of the product was not as advertised. I followed their instruction on the return process and I have never received my $194.00 back.

Ordered Sea Hoses and Lion Fish for the Jelly Fish Aquarium. I also ordered the heated jacket. Did not receive the items for the Aquarium but got a phone blocker. The jacket arrived but was faulty, would not heat. I printed out the return label and shipped everything back. They got their stuff back and my money and I have nothing.

I returned an item that was completely defective. I called and was instructed to return the item. The item was returned. I heard nothing from the company. I called and was told the item would be refunded the amount I paid within 5 business days. Did not happen. I called again and was then told they had a new policy of 21 days after receiving the product back. Today will be the 21st day. I called AGAIN. The customer service rep did not have any answers. DO NOT order from this company. They are NOT reputable.

I ordered my grandsons Christmas present from Hammacher Schlemmer and it never shipped.I never got a cancellation email or notice of any kind, just a phone call from my daughter telling me my grandson doesn't have a Christmas present from his papaw.

I was also ripped off by this company too! BEWARE! Use Amazon instead.Ordered the World's Best Tabletop Prelit Fraser Fir. Item: ***** WHI for a gift. The retail price was $84.96 on November 6, 2023. That evening, I cancelled the order, spoke to a rep. **** shipped it anyway! I complained. No problem they claimed, just refuse the package or take it to *** to return for a refund. That's what I did. My checking account indicates that they charged me $110 keeping $18.60 for themselves. Now they are refusing to refund the total amount. Not acceptable! I will continue to complain until this is resolved. The package was never opened, although I did reinforce the tape that was coming off the package.Date of experience:November 06, 2023 LET'S TELL EVERYONE!
