On Tuesday 08/01 I returned home from work to find my unit filled with chemical fumes. I waited outside and when maintenance arrived 30 minutes later he handed me a phone to speak with the property manager. ***** informed me the tub in the unit above mine was being resurfaced and Its fine. The smell should be gone by 10pm. I reminded her of my sons asthma. She insisted Its fine. We do this all the time. I finally asked the rep to step into my apartment. He told her No, this is bad. No one thought to close the vent leading from that bathroom directly into mine so my unit filled with fumes. An industrial blower was brought from their garage and placed in my bedroom to blow air out the window. My son and I proceeded to a hotel. The next day I asked ***** for the name of the chemicals being used and the **** for them. Her response to my question was I dont know but the regional office said to tell you theyre approved. I explained I needed to get this to my sons pediatrician. Fine was her response (It was 12pm. She didnt produce these until nearly 5pm, after the Dr had left for the day). She reiterated that they wouldnt cover my hotel charges. She told me that her boss, *********************, instructed her to tell me to File a claim with your renters insurance if you want to be reimbursed. Thats why we make you have it. When my son and I did return to the unit I found the blower placed in my bedroom was bug infested. (Mind you, it had been running 48 hours on my electricity as they forgot to pick it up the day before) I killed what was visible, laundered my linen and used Lysol all over the room. I woke the next morning with bug bites on my feet, elbows and face. On Friday 08/04 I sent the pics to the office and was told someone would be out Thursday 08/10. I repeated the Lysol and laundering yet woke up the next day with twice as many bites. I can no longer sleep in my bedroom and management has yet to respond to my request to have someone out immediately.

I live at the ************* apartments in ******, **. Which is managed by Town Management company out of **********, ** per their company website. Corporate (Town Management) is increasing resident's rent by $100-$300/month and are refusing to negotiate on renewal rental rates. Any communication regarding rental rates is being completed by office staff, and of the 4-5 people I have talked to regarding this outrageous increase in rent, none have been able to speak to corporate directly, nor has corporate tried to reach out to residents regarding why rent is being increased so much. These apartments are almost 20 years old, have no major interior updates, maintenance and office staff do not respond to issues in a timely manner, and the quality of the complex has decreased dramatically. Furthermore, there have been several brand new apartment buildings opening up within 1-5 miles of Chelsea ***** that are offering similar rates for, again, a BRAND NEW apartment. My rent will be increasing from $1,010/month to $1,210/month for no clear reasons that I can personally justify, and no clear reasons that the company has been able to explain to me. My rent increased $80/month last year, so that is almost a $300/month increase in 2 years for completely unjustified reasons. 2 years ago when Town Management took over ownership of Chelsea *****, they also attempted to increase my rent by $200/month, but at the time they negotiated to only a $50/month increase. It makes absolutely no sense to me why they are refusing to negotiate now. This company is inhumane, greedy, and inconsiderate of their tenants' financial situations. I will be contacting a lawyer to review my lease from ********************************************************************** I have included my current 2023 lease offer, the 2022 lease offer, and 2022 lease document for reference.

This problem first announced back in February 2021, and resurfaced in early May 2022. There was mold starting to come out of one of my vents in the laundry/ **** room and forming around the hosing of the **** system. Maintenance wiped down the surfaces with mold killer back in February. My respiratory system has been struggling even before the initial maintenance request, but has started to get worse as long as random feelings of nausea. Early May I noticed the mold starting to grow back out of the vent, so I took it off and found a colony of living mold. I paid the ****************** a third party $450 to come in and test the mold and and air toxicity. The forensic evaluation proved high counts of Aspergillus/ Penicillium and Cladosporium with the air toxicity reaching ****, nearly 3 times a healthy reading. Yet, maintenance no call no showed one scheduled day and arrived an hour late of the scheduled time for cleaning the problem areas. When maintenance did show, **** called it mildew and wiped off one surface around the vent and not the inner part, then sprayed white primer (paint) on the surfaces trapping in the live mold. Maintenance/ management neglects to come up with a proper plan to clean the areas and completely disregarding my health by not getting me into a new unit. It has been reported that there is loose shingling and a peeling patch job on the roof. This has been a known problem dating back to mid ************************************** my unit last year. Management blames the mold to be on moisture caused by the dryer, but fail to acknowledge the prevalent moisture in the attic caused from long-standing roof damage and improper repair. The mold is still present and there has yet to be a valid plan to resolve the issue without advancing matters to ************************.
