H&L builders has refused to fix the flooding issue they caused in our yard with my house under warranty. They did not properly grate the yard because they were not compliant with building standards and the city of O Fallon made them put up a gate on our porch. We have contacted them several times and they are refusing to fix the situation. My basement is leaking because of it. We have had standing water in our yard for over 2 months. They installed a tub/shower combo with cracking and have refused to replace it because the owner stated his daughter who cleans the houses before sale would have told him it was cracked. We hadnt even used the tub when I reported the cracking. Multiple cosmetic flaws, HOA violations from the builder himself. Paid for extra outlets that were never put into the house and **** said he didnt know what we were talking about but he was the one there with us during the electrical walk thru. This company has its employees rudely responding to requests to repair our house.Business response

All of our building sites are required to have civil engineering grading plans per the city of ********. The city also requires fall protection on any porch
any amount over 24 inches, this has nothing to do with how the yard was graded. We have never been shown in person or pictures
of standing water in the yard. We repaired a crack in their guest bathtub, this has been our policy for all homes requiring this repair.
We installed 12 extra outlets at their request, even after closing we installed an additional outlet over the fireplace and no charge to
homeowner. Considering we own the development oversee and maintain the grounds how we would violate our own HOA?
Our staff has responded in a professional manner and has done their best to address their concerns.

The owner of H & L has failed to correct/address the damage done to our back yard, as a result of building a home next door. During the process of building the home home next door they leveled the back yard of that home. And every time it rains; our back yard and patio was destroyed with flooding, and mud. The owner(s) are **** & ******* *******. My husband and I have had numerous conversations with them and our patio has not been fixed and they threw hay in the back yard and place a few cheap pieces of grass and it still floods. Our yard is destroyed. **** told me that "if you wanted to have more input about what happens to your yard and in this community; You should have read the fine print in the HOA document". My husband and I are veterans and have never had anyone speak to us that way. I would NOT RECOMMEND any VETERAN OR ANYONEa else to purchase a H & L Homebuilders home. The customer service, courtesy, and responsiveness is deplorable . On their website, they state they are a premier homebuilder, there is nothing premier about how they build homes or engage their clients. ******* is condescending and rude; and acts as if she is doing you a favor when you ask for them to do their job! We want the yard fixed according to an engineer/city recommendation and we want the patio replaced.Business response

This family bought a home in a development that is still under construction. So their the third owner of this particular home and knowingly bought this home in an active construction development. They also called the St. Clair County on us for a complaint. St. Clair County called us in response to that and acknowledged that we had done the proper construction procedures during grading and construction. When construction was completed we graded and reseeded their damaged area along with power washing their back patio. They have just recently sent us an email and a phone call referencing us to stay off of their property. We currently have four other homes in this development with the same situation and no complaints.
