I, ************************* purchased snap in dentures, March 22 2023 at the Munsert, ******* clinic. I paid a deposit of $8500 to have my dentures designed. It took 2 months for the denture to be created. I then paid the remaining balance of $3000 to have the dentures implanted in July 2023. The orthodontist implanted two permanent support arches instead of four. The contract says to implant four. During the fitting in May 2023, the sample dentures fit okay, with the two support arches. EON Clinics was to now create the the actual dentures. The dentures were not ready until mid-September 2023. The snap-in dentures broke in half 3 weeks later. Could be due to the design or the lack of support arches. Contacted the EON Clinics to advise of the break and they had me take them in. The orthodontist started making new dentures in October, now I am in March 2024. Picked up the new dentures March 24 and they still do not fit, snap or stay in my mouth. EON Clinics has to fix them again. It has been 1 year with this company and I do not have the product that I paid $11,500 for. I am requesting a refund and dissolve communication. The clinic is unable to fulfill their obligation.Initial Complaint

At my last visit on or about 2/9 was told I would get a call back about my future treatment and possible new prosthesis. Since I didn't get a call back I called on 2/19, however I was transfer to the Indiana location because the office was closed. I talk to ***** the operations manager and advised her what was going on-and she was going to get someone call back, since I still haven't gotten a call back I called and left ***** a message on 8/26 and today and still no call back. This is not the only issue. They don't listen to your complaints. I kept saying my implant was broke but they kept saying it was the abutment. I had them take out the abutment and I was right. They scheduled surgery and placed to implants without any explanation. I didn't know the implant was not placed in the exact spot until my last visit on 2/9 and that is when I was told I will need a new prosthesis. I've had 5 different dentists since my teeth were place in 2015. The only dentists that listen and did excellent work was **************** and ************(not sure of the spelling). I had one doctor told me not to be a baby when I was in pain from a broken implant previously which was found by one of the dental assistant. I'm having sensitivity from missing plugs and my teeth have not been clean in over 6 months.Initial Complaint

Transaction took place . On Jan 11 2023. The main issue I had was that EON Lied to me about the detail of the Loan . Telling me that this was a medical Loan and i was the only one liable for the loan because I was the only applicant with no co signer. They only told me that there would be a ****. dollar if i canceled for some reason.. They never say a single word about other cancellation fees . Then while I was in the chair taking impressions they handed me a pile of paper . Consent Forms and that is where they got me in that consent form stack there were fees for cancellation . I called the lender on Jan 13 ******************************************************************* the truth . That if I should die before the loan was completely payed would my wife be responsible for the loan. They said If i were to die my estate would be required to pay the full amount. so I asked them to cancel the loan because i was lied to by ***. They could not cancel because they had already paid Eon on Jan 12 *****. I called Eon and they said because my a surgery date was on Jan 16 2023 so I owed them **** fpr the cancellation . they rushed the day of the surgery it was less the five business days from the application. I told me once I sign the consent form I had no chance to cancel No Chance at all they were get at least **** dollars from me . They had money from the lender and I was just screwed Ha Ha Ha shame on me for trusting the terms of the loan. I thought I had at least 3 days to cancel any contract . I tried to cancel in less the 48 Hours . it was not fast enough . I asked for the model of the teeth i received the models and got papers stated that they had no intention of providing the lower set of implant . After telling me that they were going to do their best to try and place implant on the lower jaw. another Lie that i was told. They refunded money to the lender all except ******************************************************* up for any cancellation . No chanceInitial Complaint

Deceitful practices. Went to Eon as a second estimate. Told them about the product and price offered at Clear Choice implant agency ($55,000). *** Consultant said she used to work for Clear Choice and that Eon offered the same product for less so I chose Eon and paid cash. Also advised *** that Clear Choice offered to come down $5000 on their price when I told them I was not choosing them, but I went with Eon to get the same product for less. Near end of the total process Eon advised that the permanent teeth material would be the same as the temporary teeth just with a bar added to give stability. Told there is a better product and I could only get the quality product (which was what Clear Choice offered) if I give them ~$10,000 more. This was never divulged in the initial consultation or at any time prior to that. Also during the time with temporary teeth I had several occasions where plugs fell out leaving holes. Told by tech "not important" but I found it allowed food to get trapped which was an issue. Another issue was teeth became extremely loose on bottom on a Friday and no way to get anything done until following Monday - no emergency number or resource. The ideal solution to this complaint would be that I receive the teeth that I was promised I was getting, (which I would have gotten from Clear Choice), at the cost I was quoted without having to pay anything additional.Business response

Patient was offered two options for prosthetic material at the initial consultation. When the patient committed to moving forward, the material of his choosing was clearly identified on sales collateral and on contractual agreement. It should be noted that with either choice, both prices were lower than a competitive quote the patient had received from another provider. Based on price alone the patient initially chose the hybrid acrylic prosthesis. Our Clinic has been notified and is currently in communication wit the patient. We are confident in a resolution.Customer response

Complaint: 17579387
I am rejecting this response because:The business never gave me 2 options for materials at the onset, as they indicated in their response. I was only ever told about one type of material. The second material at an additional cost only came up when I was more than halfway through the entire process. After this complaint to BBB I was given an offer to get the better material for $6000 instead of $9900+. That amount was still higher than I anticipated I should pay. I spoke with someone (******) who indicated she would talk with the 'owner' and see if they could offer a better price. After several calls and promises of returning my call, she finally came back indicating that the owner said they couldn't go any lower. I've decided to go forward with getting the teeth that I've already paid $44,000 cash for, however I'm not at all pleased with the lack of willingness by the company to resolve this issue to my satisfaction.
Sincerely,

It looks as if you have been working with the clinic to resolve the issue as best as possible. As a representative of the Eon Clinics, I can assure you that the reason Implant restorations are expensive for consumers is because they are expensive for any provider to deliver- this means Eon Clinics as well. Our business is NOT a 'high margin' business.
Costs get eaten up by raw materials, labor, overhead and advertising very quickly. It also looks like the Clinic Manager has partnered with owners to arrange an "at cost" plan if you wanted to go with Zirconia. By your last entry "I've decided to go forward with getting the teeth that I've already paid $44,000 cash for, however I'm not at all pleased with the lack of willingness by the company to resolve this issue to my satisfaction", I see you have chosen a definitive prosthesis made of Acrylic/Titanium which is a great choice.
If there is anything else you need, please feel free to reach out to **** ******* Manager) as she is your best source for assistance in matters such as these. I do not have the ability to make financial arrangements, override clinic decisions or partner with ownership for patients.
Wishing you the best,
*****

I am rejecting this response because:The work that was performed did not live up to my expectations . When the first ***** of *** in westmont performed a good job I thought but down the road parts of the implant had broken and had quite pain from it. Eon moved to oakbrook ******** and I went there and at first didnt see the broken implant. In time they started to fix it they had a problem with the whole and also put another implant on the other side of my mouth to hold it. Now this went from 4 implants to 5. *************** would not give me anything for pain and got mad at me because he had to do the implant again. The implant was finally attached but the teeth were to long for my mouth and he shaved them down and said I was done. These people are not professional and I am scared to go back and they mess up more. I talked to a man that was there and had the same problem with this company.

Refunding for a surgical procedure is simply not an option. Eon Clinics will stand behind our work, but you must allow us the opportunity to make it right for you. Not allowing us to make it right for you does not seem equitable, fair, or even reasonable. I am here for you as the Director of Production and have provided you with my direct phone number so I can be an advocate in making this correct for you. Call me or the office and we will explore the details of your treatment and find what needs to be done next to remedy any and all issues you are having.

Eon clinics presented their all on 4 procedure as a permanent smile solution. It was a temporary waste of money. They used titanium and plastic bridges with a known life span of 5-7 years and failed to properly warrant the inferior materials. They falsely accused me of grinding my teeth. Medical and dental records show I dont have a grinding problem. They neglected to inform me that their locations are not convenient and are restricted to a small midwestern radius until after I moved out of their range. They now expect me to drive an 11 hour round trip, at age 70, twice a year for dental service for the rest of my life. They reneged on their lifetime guarantee by increasing the service price by over 260% within 7 years. The contract says cleanings and checkups are $150 total. They now charge $400. My front teeth started breaking within 5 years and they glued them back on after I made special trips to their location. As long as theyre utilizing substandard materials proven to last 5-7 years, they should be required to specify it in writing. They did not. After losing my plastic front teeth three times in a year, they tried to sell me an expensive upgrade at $8,500. ******************** repeatedly compares this all on one bridgework to a car that requires maintenance. If these plastic teeth were a car, theyd be recalled for failure to perform as advertised. Breaking plastic teeth are a choking hazard. They have placed me at risk every time I eat. They break easily with a single bagel bite. The resolution I seek would be to hold this company to its advertisements and get the permanent smile I spent $30,000 on at Eon. The company should admit its mistake and replace the cheap plastic, temporary bridge with a longer lasting option at little or no cost to me. Its the only viable option to fix the choking hazard they created when they misrepresented their inferior materials to con me out of my hard earned savings.Business response

Patient received a state of the art, definitive prosthesis at the time of delivery. This is not and was not a temporary in any way. Since this delivery took place, there have been upgraded materials that have become the industry standard, namely Zirconia bridges. We do offer this to past patients that have Acrylic/titanium hybrid prosthesis as an upgrade option.
In order for a patient to receive the agreed upon benefit from the original contract, that patient must follow the guidelines set within, specifically Implant Maintenance performed every 6 months. Eon Clinics has had its original locations for over 11 years and we have not moved our offices or expanded out of the Chicago metropolitan area. If a patient moves away from *******, they can elect to return to EON CLINICS for Maintenance or seek a provider near them. In any case, Implant Maintenance needs to be completed regularly.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you, and are willing to work within the guidelines of your original agreement, Please reach out to me if you would like further assistance.
Best regards,

Complaint: 16896059
I am rejecting this response because:
This company violated their own life time guarantee when they raised their price for the mandatory appointments without notice. This company sold and continues to sell an inferior product which they know lasts 5-7 years as a permanent dental solution. And while the company doesnt define the product as temporary, they cannot define this product as permanent. My dental records are shared between my family dentist and this Eon practice but have never missed an appointment with my family dentist who is local and accessible. My implants have been well maintained and are not a pert if this complaint. The cheap, plastic resin teeth used in the bridge they is advertised as permanent is the problem. The company cannot show any literature explaining the short life span of this product because the vast majority of people would reject the need to replace or refurbish it every 5-7 years. They sold me a lemon and they knew it. I am one of many patients who have experiences this same issue. This plastic resin they use for permanent teeth has broken repeatedly, as is documented by my dental records. These broken teeth create a choking hazard as they always break during a meal. This company should correct their advertising and their product or at least inform patients of the choking hazard they are pawning off as permanent.
Sincerely,
*********************************Business response

At the time of treatment, this patient received a state of the art prosthesis (acrylic with a titanium bar). It was the best and only option at that time! New technologies emerge in every business, Zirconia is the most recent in dentistry. Eon Clinics offers this as an upgrade option to past patients.
A contract was made between the patient and the company, clearly defining the steps necessary to keep the guarantee in force. Eon Clinics has had only one price increase for Implant Maintenance since we began practicing. ********* reserve the right to increase charges as costs increase.
Again I offer my assistance, If you would like to discuss how I can help you please feel free to call me at ************* (this is my personal cell phone)

Complaint: 16896059
I am rejecting this response because:the response fails to address the false advertisement of a permanency smile and the fact that the practice used inferior materials which they refused to guarantee. Company admits to increasing the price and claims to reserve this right. The contract clearly shows the price they agreed to charge from the beginning. The cost has risen from $150 to $400 per visit. This company has a chance to make this right. They continue to argue while continuing to sell new patients this same choking hazard they call teeth. Therefore I reject their response.
Sincerely,
