On 3-19-24 I went into this office for a $50 courtesy consultation. Then when I was leaving, I was told that the Charge would be $500 because they did some other test that I WAS NEVER ASKED TO APPROVE. I just wanted to get the h*** out of that office, so I paid. I called my credit card company Chase immediately, but they said since I paid, they could not help me. I am 69 years old that amount is 1/2 of my social security check..They did this without my permission.Business response

The patient was informed prior to his appointment that any additional tests/xrays needed in addition to the consultation would have an additional charge. During the appointment, the patient was informed the fee for the scan and willingly accepted having it done in order to fully diagnose his dental condition. The patient could have shared his concern about the fee at the time of checking out. The patient's charge back request after the visit has already been declined by his credit card company because of the patient's willingness to pay the full fees at the time of checkout.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because They are lying I was never told of any additional charge. Is there a professional dental association I can contact to file a complaint against them. This is extreme elder abuse they are liars

**************, we're sorry that you feel this way. We do our best to treat all of our patients with the utmost level of respect and care. In order to properly diagnose and provide you treatment options for your dental situation that you came in to address, the scan was necessary and has an additional charge beyond the basic consultation fee. The detailed dental treatment plan, including all fees and additional courtesies (discounts) we offer, was presented to you by our front desk team member and signed by you. You also made your full payment (minus our new patient courtesy discount) for the consultation and scan at the time of checkout - never indicating any issue with the fees. Your complaint has come as a surprise to us given the positive way the dental visit went.
