Mr *********************** signed a retail contract with our salesman to replace his roof only.  The contract included removal of all roofing materials, installing ice & water barrier, installing synthetic felt, drip edge at the *****, starter shingles, new laminated shingles and hip & ridge shingles.  The contract did not include any gutter replacement or gutter apron, therefore, we did not touch his existing gutters.  His roof did not previously have gutter apron.

After the work was completed, *************** contacted our salesman and raised some concerns.  I personally went to ******************* house and addressed his concerns, which included raised shingle at some *****, a spot on his ridge shingle that was raised and a concern that no ice and water was installed.

I found some nails which were left causing the shingles to be raised.  I removed the nails and inspected every inch of his eves to ensure nothing was raising the shingles.  I walked his entire roof and found no other issues at the time.  I found that ice and water barrier had been installed at the eves, as required.  His insurance company approved replacement of some downspouts, but *************** did not include this in our contract.  Since no gutter replacement was approved by his insurance company, no work was done on gutters.  We are sorry *************** is not satisfied, however we believe our work was completed according to the contract.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

      Respectfully,

      ***********************

I am rejecting this response because: This guy is a farce, He returned here 1 year after I made Complaint and made no attempt to address the problems except to pick a few nails up from under the singles on the outer edge of the roof , maybe he thinks he knows how to install a roof, but the ones that he sent here to do the job didnt have a clue what they were doing, now its a mess and looks horrible and needs done by a professional roofing company, not by a bunch of fly by night wanna be roofer, They did not install the drip **** as up to code and his salesman noted on the contract that it would be installed and it was not ! As far as fascia, gutters and other materials that it needed was to be on a change order (which they made no attempt to replace) would be covered by the insurance company, But none of the workers could understand english , therefor if your hired to do a job, maybe you should be on that job instead of sending people out to do something they know nothing of, The owner of the company I guess was to busy out rounding up other innocent customers to cheat and cobble there houses,. The contract plain states you people were replacing all drip edge and flashings You didnt replace all the drip edges as required , and you reused all the flashings that you mangled up removing the old roof, Hammered back flat and reused them ,What a joke! And I know for a fact that you people did not use step flashing on the eves as required, because you'd had to remove the siding to accomplish this, Fact! Now the roof LEAKS, Thanks for all your NOT hard work!

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

We have reviewed the complaint with the customer.  Rather than draw this out, it will be easy enough for us to go back and install the gutter apron.  I will call him today and schedule for us to go there tomorrow and get this matter resolved.  This is one of those situations where the customer is wrong but why argue.  The only impact on me is time, a 3 hour drive down, installing the material and a 3 hour drive back.  I will call him this morning.

I am rejecting this response because: There are to many issues for this company to complete properly, they've already totally made a mess of things and have no intentions of fixing the problems correctly, ************ is just a bunch of cobblers with no real professional skills that's why they came three hours out of there way, Cobble it up and spend two years later and now want to cobble some more and think that will satisfy their customers, Well, they are not allowed on the property to make things worse so we will just settle it in front of the judge and they can make another three hour trip and back.

      Sincerely,

We are making a sincere attempt to resolve the concerns of this customer.  We inspected the roof after the work was completed.  The original concerns were reported to a salesman who is no longer with our company.  We were not informed of any issues until long, over a year, after they were given to the departed salesman.  When we finally learned of the issues, we went to inspect and correct the issues reported.

      The original items reported were:

1- No drip edge on the gutters.  The metal he refers to is actually gutter apron.  We did install drip edge on the ***** and upper dormers.  We did not contract to replace the gutters so we did not touch the gutters or gutter apron.  There was no metal existing before the work was done.  The customer had gutter covers on the gutters, which is why the condition was not visible to him before the roof replacement.

2- The existing gutter covers were not reattached because they were brittle.  ********************* did not pay to replace the gutter covers so they were not included in the scope of work to be done.

3- The customer requested that we look at the ridge shingles as there was one spot pushed up.  Upon our inspection, we did not identify an issue with the ridge shingles so no repair was necessary.

These above mentioned items were the only issues reported to our salesman after the work was done.  The customer did not mention anything to me when I went to his house and address the above concerns.  We did not even receive the curtesy of a call from the customer letting us know he had additional concerns.  We learned about his concerns in the form of this BBB complaint.  We would have been happy to address his concerns.

Now the customer is alleging other issues.  We have offered to install the gutter apron at no expense to him.  We would be happy to look at any other concern he believes exist on his roof, however, we are being denied access to his property and advised that we would be prosecuted if we attempted to come to his house.

We are doing all we can but it seems we are at an impasse.  We hold no animosity towards this customer and remain willing to address his concerns.
