      I used Mepham Tax and Accounting to prepare my 2021 taxes. In early 2023, I received a letter from the *** that my income had been understated. I learned the preparer had not included both of my W-2's on the return. They paid the *** penalty and I paid the amount due. In Sept of 2023 I received another letter from the *** and sent it on to Mepham Tax and Accounting. *****, told me Nothing needed to be done since we paid. I completed my 2023 taxes myself. I received another letter from the *** saying they were keeping my refund because I still owed $2,382.61. I sent this letter to Mepham Tax and accounting and did not hear back after 5 days. I called the *** to learn that they did not file the amendment correctly...Page 2 with the signature was not included. Since the amendment was not processed successfully the issue was still opened. I wrote MTandA an email stating that I was very dissatisfied with not hearing back about this issue and explained what the *** Agent told me. This is the response I got....I dont care what the agent is telling you, the return was filed electronically so there is no way any forms were left out. I have been out of the office with some medical issues since tax season and was going to address it when I got back next week. I hired this accounting company to prepare my taxes and because of their mistake and lack of attention in filing amendments I am now on the *** radar and they are holding my refund. I have been patient and understanding but I feel this company is doing me a great disservice causing me to spend hours contacting *** to learn I need them to take corrective action yet again. I just want this resolved. I'm not asking any for any compensation for them but for them to be held accountable and to complete the task I have already paid for. I would very much appreciate anything you can do to help in this matter.

      When we were first notified that she got a letter from the **** it was amended and e-filed; therefore, there was no way the *** didn't receive the entire return.  She was given the second copy, and she mailed that in so if she took the return and letter apart after she left my office, I have no control over that.  We have been nothing but accommodating to her because it was our mistake, which includes paying the interest and penalties and she has been rude to us.  We have done our due diligence and paid due to the error on our part; therefore, we consider this matter resolved, she will have to take it up with the *** if she gets a new letter because I have now overnighted it to the *** at our cost for the third time.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I will be trying to call the *** tomorrow or Friday to see if this issue has been resolved. ****** from Mepham tax emailed me to say I should plan on handling this myself. She was very angry that I contacted your organization. I will respond back as soon as I talk with the *** to see if she submitted the proper documentation. I hope that this will be resolved soon.
