      I have been having issues with MidAmerica Orthopaedics since I went into their office. I went in to get custom orthotics in 3/24/22 Was told it wouldnt be be much and that insurance would cover most of the bill. Still wasnt told of the amount. Then proceeded to use a mold of my foot guaranteeing they will be charging me of at least the price of the mold which was an absurd price so was left with no choice to comply and purchase the orthotics if not, still be charged for mold. ****************************************** extremely inappropriate with remarks as to why I havent been making any follow up appointments but ***** told to make said appointments nor the staff arranging them. I have been trying to pay them and was under the assumption that I was on a payment plan with them. Called them today 7/25/23 and was told that I was never in a payment plan. There was a notation in their system that I discussed a payment plan with them but was never initiated. I do recall giving my card information to a representative there and setting up a payment plan of $50 to extend to a year. Now the current rep said that the plan was never final. I then tried to use a PWA card that expires on 1/24 and was told I need to break my payments down by the remaining months on the card. And that I could not update my card so I have to pay $548.65 divided by 6 months instead of a year. Never heard of such a thing that I cant update my payment information. MidAmerica orthopaedics is so unorganized and uninformative. Tricking their patients to do commit to things without informing them of costs and updating appointments. I also am looking at my bill and seems a bit farfetched of what I am being charged for

      I contacted *************** either March 4 or 7th in regards to my visit on March 4th. I explained what transpired during this time. At that time I have contacted *************** recently after deciding a **** last week. I have left a message on his voicemail and with the ***** in the billing department. He attempted to return my call on July 22nd. I politely asked if he could call me back. I was finishing up a call from work. He never did call back. I called on July 26th and left another message with *****.

      January 13, 2022 I had surgery on my hand. I was told I had to prepay for surgery even though I have insurance. I paid $2000.00. The insurance paid the claim in full. I have been calling since Febuary for a credit to my credit card and the billing department keeps telling me the director will call me back or I have outstanding balances owed for therapy. The deposit was for surgery not therapy!!! The director ******************** has failed to call me back as of today.

      ************************ paid the out of pocket deductible for her procedure upfront in the amount of $2000.00. When ************************ called on February, 8th to request a refund, we explained that the insurance carrier had not yet processed her claims and we wouldnt issue a refund until they provided an explanation of benefits. We also explained that she had a present balance and that we would deduct the owed amount from her refund. She didnt want the outstanding amount taken from the refund so a revenue cycle team member explained that she would still need to pay the balance. ************************ then expressed understanding and did not request to speak with me until March 22nd. I returned her call the next day on March 23rd. I informed her that we received the eob and her refund had already been issued. ************************ received the check and her refund cleared our account on March 31st. Please let me know if further information is required. Thank you

      Statements made are not accurate but my refund was issued after I contacted BBB. I requested to speak with ******************** SEVERAL times. She didn't call me back until after the complaints.I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
