I hired **** ******* to put a steel roof on my house ********* ***** ***** in the amount of $4,488.92 was the deposit he asked for. Mr. ******l said he would start October 1st. Weather permitting. Called him 11-10-2022 said he had covid but his men would be there in two weeks. Called him 12-1-2021 gave me some excuse about the cost of materials I said to him you mean to tell me you don't have my roofing bought yet and he said he didn't have any place to store them and didn't purchase them until he started the job even though he cashed my check the previous August. I contacted him a couple more times this spring more excuses and the last time was on 7-18-22. I won't repeat the foul language he used and hung the phone up on me. On July 16 I went to Angie list to get bids to replaced the roof on my rental property at 128 N Mac Arthur. I received a list bids and on 7/23/2021 decided to call **** ******* of mid america construction. I mailed the sign bid and deposit of $4,250 to him. He said he can start after labor day. On 08/31/2021 I called **** *******, date set for September 15 or 16 depending upon the weather. On 9/20/2021 I tried to call/email him **** a number of times before getting a hold of him on 9/21/2021. He said there was 1 person ahead of me. On 9/30/3031 I left voice mails and emails to **** on status of roof. **** finally called me back on October 2 saying he has Covid. He said He maybe able to start on October 7 or 8th. I tried to call him on October 11. This is when the problems started. I left numerous voice mails, emails including emails through the better business bureau. I did this every day through October 13 when I finally got a hold of him. He blames the weather. The feedback problems got worst. I left voice mails, emails, etc every day from October 13 through October 19 when I finally got a hold of him. **** said he has not finished the customer before me. **** also said Materials need to be ordered before starting on my roof. **** also said I could request the return of my money. **** said the materials need to be fabricated and delivered. He will call to start the fabrication when ready to start on my roof. Once the fabrication of the steel for roof is ordered there is no turning back. He said to call him on Friday (october 22). When I called on October 22 he said the materials should be delivered on November 9. I called, email him On the 9th and every day since with no response. The only thing I want is the roof to the house and garage replaced. Please help!
