Review update: Last year I wrote a positive initial review. Now, I must tell you what has transpired:Salesman bid filling the front stoop crack and putting on a top coat. He told me that the crack would remain sealed and hidden for 10 years. (There was a one year warranty.) The installer told me it was unlikely that the crack would remain sealed and hidden for even a year so to be sure that I made a claim before the 1 year warranty ran out. The installer was correct and I contacted the company after the worst of the winter but before the season opened. The salesman began back pedaling and telling me all kinds of reasons the warranty might be voided. This week a manager came out to see what needed to be done. He told me that my 14 year old stoop decided to wait until this year to shift and that was why the crack was again visible. I paid a lot of money and suggested that the company overcharged me. The manager left. So, you may use this information to decide if this is the company with whom you want to do business.

Thank you for expressing your concerns. For this particular project, the customer requested  to cover  the stoop  with a thin overlay material. The price was agreed and contract signed by customer. Customer called the company that after the winter a small crack appeared on overlay material. The reason the crack appeared is that stoop (about 4-6" thick) settled about 1/16" and the tension fraction transferred the overlay creating hairline crack.  This could be clearly observed to the height differences on a side of the small crack by the wall. All overlay material is intact with no peeling or other defects observed. This is an indication that there is not quality defects caused by material or installer. Rather it was caused by the external factors not controlled by installing company. Stoop is located on a creak and not too far from the pond, that might be contributing factor to stoop settling.
Despite the fact settling happen out of our control,  we inspected customers property and discussed potential mitigation options with *****. However customer choose to intimidate and harass company's representative.

I am rejecting this response because: *********** explanation misrepresents what happened. The initial concern was repairing the stoop crack. The salesman told me they would do that and then use the overlay to cover the crack repair and make the stoop look uniform. The crack resurfaced before the first winter was over. The salesman said nothing about the creek impacting the stoop. If I knew now what I hear now from the company, salesman, installer, I would never have purchased this service.
(Please refer to my initial complaint and I dont think youll find intimidation and harassment in my complaint.) The crack did not stay repaired and there was a year warranty plus the salesman telling me it would stay non-visible for 10 years leading me to tell the company that If they could not succeed with the job then I paid too much money and there should be at least a partial but substantial refund.

      Sincerely,

As explained earlier CRC completed its contractual obligations to customer and crack re-appeared due to shift on concrete slab under the the coat. It was caused by the external factors not controlled by installing company. Therefore we could not be responsible for it.

I am rejecting this response because:

In the future, have the salesman tell that this is likely rather than saying that it is expected that the crack will remain invisible probably for ten years. The man who did the work knew it wouldnt last even a year but by then the contact was signed and the money had been paid.

      - A 26 foot long crack formed over 3 slabs of concrete less than 1 month of installation.- Called 7 times before the owner would take my call. Only called back after I said I would write a negative review online.- Owner came out to look at the crack and assured me there was wire mesh under the concrete and it was structurally sound.- Crack has widened greatly after being told that it wouldnt. - Had a plumbing issue (cracked & clogged pipe) under the driveway due to rocks and plastic downspout cap in the plumbing line. This was discovered with a sewer camera. This was most likely caused by CRC driveway company because the above mentioned downspout cap was on our old driveway. Once the plumber was able to locate the exact location of the broken pipe he had to dig up a portion of the driveway to get to the pipe. THERE WAS NO WIRE MESH under the driveway. The owner of CRC Concrete assured me that there was wire mesh under the driveway. I used a metal detector, and from the crack to the house there was no detection of metal from the metal detector. There is not wire mesh under the driveway as was advertised.- Also there was no use of an expansion joint against the house.- I have had several concrete companies out to get an estimate of tearing up the concrete from the 26 foot long crack to the wall and all have said there should be an expansion joint against the house. No expansion joint, plus no wire mesh most likely caused the crack.- We think that it is a reasonable request for CRC to replace the section of the driveway from the crack to the house that does not have the wire mesh as advertised. Date of Transaction May 2020 Cost $13,200 Invoice #***

The customer complaining over 2 years from installation (one year after warranty expired) after plumber went and had to remove a portion of the driveway.

Customer is complaining about a crack in his concrete.  We have a 1 year warranty for concrete replacement.  A permit was received from the **************************.  The village passed a base inspection and final inspection as the work was to code.  CRC made every effort to install the concrete so that there would be no cracks in the concrete. CRC used wire mesh as well as fiber to make the concrete more durable.

We explained to customer that due to the nature of ********************** CRC is not responsible for cracks after installation.  The customer understood at the time.  The crack that the customer was discussing was a hairline crack.

I am rejecting this response because:

I called 3 weeks after installation because the crack started right away. You said the 1-year warranty does not cover cracks. Why would you mention a 1-year warranty now? It is no longer a hairline crack. You assured me it would not get wider because there was wire mesh underneath. There is NOT wire mesh underneath because a plumber had to dig a piece out to fix a broken pipe most likely caused by installation of driveway. I still believe it is reasonable for you to replace the section that does not have the wire mesh. There was obviously a shortcut taken and the wire mesh was not placed in the section that is cracking.

      Sincerely,

Concrete cracks are not covered by warranty within warranty period or after warranty. This is explained to customer after installation in previous response.

Concrete driveway installation followed city codes and requirements otherwise it would not pass a city inspection.

Could not service a job out of warranty.

      Complaint: 17485371

I am rejecting this response because:

I understand that cracks are not under warranty. However, the cracks were caused by a lack of wire mesh that was supposed to be under the concrete and a lack of an expansion joint against the house. My town does not do a post-inspection. The pre-inspection was done to make sure there was 4-5 inches of depth for the concrete. Some areas of the driveway are only 2 inches thick. (3 inches under city code). This is yet another item on the contract that was under-delivered on your end. I am asking that you replace the concrete from the crack to the house and add an expansion joint and the wire mesh that was supposed to be installed but wasn't.  We have had other concrete companies out to obtain bids on how much this would cost and the average is $4,000. If you are not willing to fix the issue, I would like to receive some compensation to fix this problem, not to mention the expensive plumbing issue most likely caused by the installers (this was explained in a previous message).

      Sincerely,

I hired CRC to repair a big crack that was also unlevel. They raised parts of the sidewalk to even it out and fixed the crack. The section that was cracked, once again cracked. I called and was told to go to Home Depot, buy some caulk and fix it myself. I said absolutely not! They came out and spread something over the crack, that looked horrible. It then cracked again. Numerous calls, e- mails and photos sent. No reply at all. They are ignoring me. I would like them to fix the mess they made. Very very disappointed in this company.
