2/27/2024 Advanced Construction gave us an verbal quote on our patio project for $6500.00 in cash. Red Flag#1 .It would have been $7500 if we paid any other way. This verbal quote consisted of removing existing patio pavers and pour new concrete slab that we would have a choice of color and stamping pattern. On this day the owner gave us a book to choose a stamp pattern / color scheme. 2/28/2024 Received quote in email attached. 3/2/2024 Advanced Construction arrived to start removing pavers and I paid the owner half of the money ($3250) and gave back the book with our choice of stamp pattern/color. After the pavers were removed they found an concrete slab underneath. Owner said that they will put a bond barrier over it and pour over the slab. I have never heard of such a thing. Red flag #2. His crew was at our home a little over an hour. I was told that we were planning on pouring the following Tuesday(3/5/2024) 3/3/2024 Received a text message around 9P.M. stating that he was unable to get the stamp /color that he sold us on. Tried to get us to go with another pattern of stamp or just get plan brushed finish. My wife is not pleased. I asked if he could try to find the pattern he sold us on. At this point he already has half of the money and I didn't want to get ripped off. 3-5-2024 Advanced pushed are project back do to the lack of pattern. I embrace my concern about to slab and was told he could remove it for more money but it will be fine to pour over. Paying cash for this job did not give me the reassurance I needed. 3-8-2024 After a week my wife and I decided to not settle for Advanced Construction. I messaged Advanced and told them I wanted to go a different route and I would like to get the $3250 back i had paid them and I would pay them for the services performed. Removal of the pavers and 2 bushes. ($800) worth of work at the high end. 3/9/2024 Response was that the $3250 was spent by the work they performed. $3000 an hour is ridiculous
