This man *** **** is making up numbers in his head won’t show me invoices won’t show me my boat I tried contacting the police saying this is what’s going on they said this is a civil matter basically it’s pay this money or I don’t get my boat back. The man is just not being fair and coming up with crazy amounts of money that does not make sense I’ve been a customer of his for for five years and it’s never ever been easy with this man but this year has been exceptionally difficult because I’m trying to leave.Business response

I am writing in response to a complaint filed against our business by **** *****. I'd like to address the $850 balance first, as we are not throwing random numbers at Mr. *****. I would like to point out a couple of things before I begin. First, we charge storage by the season, as opposed to weekly or monthly, Also, our boating season runs from April 15th to October 15th and the storage season is from October 15th to April 15th . If a customer is in storage year-round, the seasons are the same.
At the beginning of 2021, the balance on his account this $350, owed for storage over the winter of
2020/2021. On 5.18.21, the account was charged an additional $350 for summer 2021 storage. Mr. ***** made a payment in the amount of $350, which brought the balance back down to $350. Another $350 was charged to the account on 10.22.21 for winter 2021/2022 storage, bringing the storage to bring the balance to $1050. Mr. *****' father came into the office on 4.2122 and made a $200 payment on the account. This is where we state that the balance is at $850. i would like to point out that for a boat the size of Mr. *****' boat, it would ordinarily cost $40 per foot to store it. Mr. ***** began leaving his boat in storage year-round approximately three years ago due to personal matters and at that time we began charging him only $350 per season.
While Mr. *****' father was in the office, it was explained to him twice how we arrived at the balance. I explained it to him after my bookkeeper had already explained once. The office visit ended with shouting. The following Saturday, **** ***** came into the business and was told the dollar amount required to release the boat. He was angry and proceeded to race in and out of our parking lot, at times parking directly in front of my office window sideways so that we could see each other. This went on for quite some time, but he did finally leave, saying he would be back on Monday with the police.
Yesterday, May 9th, Mr. *****' father came in and paid the bill and picked the boat up without incident. This issue has been resolved to the best of our knowledge.
