My wife and I have been living in Haymeadow Apartments since May of 2023. When we signed our lease agreement it was clearly stated in the contract that all apartment buildings are smoke free including outdoor porches. Tenants in the building have been violating the No smoking policy for months and we have smoke pouring into our bedroom at all hours of the day. We have filed several complaints with the management office with the hope that they would resolve the issue as they are contractually obligated to do. However, they will only send out text message reminders to the tenants about the building's No Smoking Policy. There have been no further investigations or actions by the management to resolve this problem and they will not return our phone calls. We are paying to rent a smoke free apartment and these terms are not being met.Business response

Good Afternoon,
Thank you for this inquiry - our management team works to ensure each and every request or concern is promptly handled in accordance with the lease contract and property policies. Our team has been working with this resident regarding this issue around November of 2023 after the birth of their baby. We have been performing inspections, issuing notices and reminders to the residents of their building. We have aLao installed additional signage throughout the building, and always complete any maintenance requests within 24 hours (unless the resident schedules the repair for a time that they request specifically). Throughout multiple inspections of this building, each unit in the building, (as well as the resident in questions unit) there continues to be no evidence of marijuana use or odor in any unit or in any common areas of the building. Furthermore, our records indicate continued contact and communication with this resident; they have been provided and utilize direct contact with the manager, our online portal messaging system (which offers email and text communication), as well as our office phone line. In addition, the property manager has had 3 in person meetings that were held with the resident to address and follow up with their concerns. Our records also show that we have received concerned calls from this residents neighbor due to them knocking on doors in the night accusing the neighbors of smoking as well.
These residents were made aware of the option to utilize the Early Lease Termination option in accordance with the contract which they have denied stating that other complexes have let them leave without penalty or fees due to complaining and leaving reviews of marijuana smell at those other properties. Unfortunately, we must enforce the lease contract equally and cannot make exceptions when there is no evidence of their claims throughout months of inspections and it would not be fair to our residents to do so or to falsely accuse other residents without evidence when they have been more than compliant with our continued inspections.
Please reach out if further details are required, we are continuing to receive defamation across all social platforms from this particular matter. Again, we assure that we have ongoing communication, continue to perform inspections, issue notices and reminders, have added additional signage and explained their options within the legal terms of the contract in effort to address their concerns and do our part to ensure compliance with all residents with the lease contract and property policies.Thank you, Haymeadow Apartments

My lease with Haymeadow Apartments ended in November of 2023. Between December ‘23 and February ‘24 I’ve been receiving charges made on my ****** ***** energy account. Legally, I am responsible as my ****** Account was never closed until today (02/14/24) However, these charges were made BY HAYMEADOW UNDER MY ENERGY ACCOUNT. they should’ve resumed THEIR OWN service the day my lease ended. they use the power to keep hear on during cold months, they should’ve made sure it was their accounts power the were using, not mine.Customer response

Please cancel this complaint. I’ve decided I don’t want to spend any more time on this. I took the $200 loss and simply will never do business with Haymeadow again.
