      The website said 7 day free pass and I reserved it twice and he never showed up... I had to call corporate who emailed him called him did everything finally the next day after 2 weeks of trying to get a hold of him he agrees to meet me the next day at 9:00 which was supposed to be to show me around and to give me the key fob for a 7-Day free pass.... He shows up very rude very aggressive and says okay so you want a membership and would only enroll me in a membership he refused to give me the 7-Day free pass that was advertised unless I gave him $49 up front as a security deposit.... That was nowhere on the website and I almost wonder if this is racially motivated because of my last name being *****... And I think that's why he didn't show up to our appointment that he agreed to via text 2 weeks in a row because he figured I'd lose interest and just go away I was really interested in checking out the gym and possibly getting a membership and I just want to know if he does this to everyone or was I singled out? Because I find it hard to believe that if he did this to everyone he would have any memberships at all.... I wish somebody would look into it to see if everybody's required $50 joiner fee for a supposedly 7-Day free pass... False advertisement and I'm very disappointed.

      Greetings Andrew,

      As we discussed on the phone regarding the subject referenced ID, EVERY member pays $49 for security activation at this facility. Other independently owned Anytime Fitness may have different membership rates.

      When a guest requests a 7-day trial, the guest pays the security activation, and if they choose to not sign up at the end of 7 days as well as return the key fob, the $49 is refunded. The 7 day "free" trial is one week of no membership dues, but this is a separate charge from the security activation. Should the guest desire to sign up and become an official member, the security activation has already been paid and they are not responsible for it. This facility has operated in this manner since its inception in 2011.

      Further, the complaint also mentions rude and aggressive behavior. As owner/operator of this facility, I would be remiss to treat potential members (which equals income and therefore business viability) as such. She simply was asked whether she was looking for a membership; nothing rude about that.

      Finally, the complaint mentions racial motivation as a reason, that her last name must have clued me in to her race. Again, as owner/operator, I can assure the reader that I haven't a racial bone in my body, and even if I did, it would be financial suicide to make this known to members or potential members. To reiterate, I would not dream of turning someone away due to race. 

      This facility is a place of inclusivity, from gender to race, and from beginning gym goer to the inveterate fitness guru and every single person who walks through our doors in welcome.

      It is my hope that this complaint/review sees no further action because the claims made in it were unequivocally false and without base. They only accurate claim made in the statement was that we missed an appointment while we were away on vacation with family for the holidays. For that, we apologized and rescheduled.

      Attached, please find records of all correspondence with this individual.

       Better Business Bureau:
      "They only accurate claim made in the statement was that we missed an appointment while we were away on vacation with family for the holidays. For that, we apologized and rescheduled." That part is false, I was never contacted, apologized to or rescheduled. But I accept the gyms response, because I have moved on to another gym which better suits my needs. So no further complaint from me....thank-you 

       I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
