Paid $1095 for dental work, bill submitted to insurance, insurance paid based off contract. I am now being charged (not recieving proper refund) more than they are contractually allowed to charge me. I am owed $455 past what I have currently been refunded and when I called to work this out without filling a grievence with the insurance company the billing department has been very rude. I will be filling a grievence with the insurance company.Business response

This was not an intentional error. Once we were notified of the discrepancy by the patient, this was quickly rectified. Adjustments have been entered, and the patient has been refunded his additional money. The patient has been notified of this.Customer response

They don't send us bills, apparently have decided we'll do digital, and we got 1 bill March 28th which was paid 3 days later. The send us to Gem City Collections, for 20 dollars mind you, with no prior call or warning. The most foul human being on the face of the earth said "it's not our job to tell you about your bad debt". I am in collections, and yes, you DO have to have proof to show that you have attempted to contact a customer about a bad debt.. We do not want this showing up on our 800+ credit scores. We pay our bills. They did not send one.Business response

An account would never be turned over to a collection agency without a statement going out. Four statements are sent with the final statement indicating that it is a final notice. Patients have the option of receiving their statements via paper or electronically or both. If a patient chooses to receive statements electronically, monthly notifications are sent advising that an electronic statement is available for viewing.
