We contacted John Litchfield to install a pool and concrete work. We gave him a check for $20500.00 on 7/17/21 for complete pool system which included heater, slide, pool, filter diving board etc. We also gave him a check that same date for $6500.00 for him to pay Terry and Sons Pools of Homer, Illinois for the plumping and his labor. We also gave him a check for $10500,00 on 7/26/21 for an automatic cover that needed to be ordered along with the other pool and supplies, On October 5, 2021 we gave him a $5000.00 check that he requested to rent a dump truck. There was never a dump truck brought to our location. He removed the concrete and and poured a new patio and we paid for the concrete for the patio. He has yet to deliver and pool or any of the above metioned supplies and had cashed and kept all the funds. We have filed a police report. We have tried several occasions to get funds back from John or to deliver what we paid for and no luck in any of that. He has stopped taking our messages and phone calls.Initial Complaint

I had a contract signed with Mr. ********** to build a 15x15 sunroom. He started the project in June of 2022, after the foundation pour of concrete on July 5 there were major problems with the result as the concrete forms failed. He was paid directly for the concrete provided by ********* *******x. He then proceeded to bounce a check to them and has since refused to pay them, and ********* *******x is threatening me with a lien on my property. **** attempted to fix the problem by pouring more cement on top of the first pour, but it did not pass City inspection. Since then **** has refused to refund any money, refused to fix the problem and refused all communication. **** was paid $33,000 for the work and it currently would cost me $7,000 to remove all the messed up work he has done. I have since found that he has done the same thing to numerous other homeowners. There is documentation on social media: ******** "A Sunroom Build With ****" has pictures and communications throughout the whole process, highlighting his horrible workmasnhip and his deceptive practices, the page also includes pictures and commentary of his other victims. I have tried to work with ****, allowing him to simply return $20,000 and be done, but he has refused. I informed him that if this went any further, I'd be seeking to be made whole: undo all his work and return my yard and house to what it was before he started. I wish to complain on John Litchfield, (John Litchfield concrete co). On March 23rd, we signed a contract & paid half the cost for him to install an inground pool in our back yard. He was suppose to start this project in May. I am complaining because he took the down payment of $39750 for supplies in March. He has never attempted the project. In short, he stole $39750 claiming services. In July we contacted him asking for a refund. At which time, he agreed to refund our money in a few weeks. Then he said he spent the money on supplies and cannot refund the money. Now, he is unresponsive. I believe that this fraudulent business practices. He took $40k and provided 0 services.
