I hired a contractor who had installed a fence at my neighbors home at *** ********. I asked the contractor to install a fence exactly like the neighbors, same material but taller, 6 feet. The contractor indicated that he could do it. It would cost $2800.00, he came and measured the fence. I called the contractor later in the year in December of 2023, if he could install the fence now. He indicated it would be $3200 and that it was 150 feet of wood to be installed. The work began and then it snowed. The contractor put up the majority of the fence but returned in January of 2024 to complete the work. The fence wood was not the same and I pointed this out as my neighbors. It was a darker wood and material. The contractor indicated that it was the same and that my wood was treated and the color would change over time. I went to ******, where contractor purchased this treated wood, it was the cheapest and cost$1.27 cents and the cedar dog wood cost $2.68 cents which was supposed to be installed like my neighbors a crossed the street. The contractor kept trying to convince me that “ the wood, same and wood change”. Contractor wanted to stop and not put up fence. I told him, I needed my fence put up exactly like neighbor’s wood only 6 feet. The contractor built gate, but used regular lumber, not treated wood for stability on all three gates. He cut holes in post and left open with no covering. He used rotted, split wood on fence, requested to remove bad wood. He did on some of the fence, but left others. As the weather got better, I called contractor to return and replace regular wood for treated wood and cover post that had hardware visible and unsightly. Contractor came back on Friday, 3/8, took down 2 gates, put on new treated lumber, but instead of putting new wood on same side, he switched and mismatched pieces.. walking on wood gate(footprints visible) changed hardware, from new to old( green hardware). I was not satisfied.I told him, he quit job.advised to find alt
