I received an email yesterday that triton college shows I have a balance of $3800 for this semester because they did not Inform me that they needed me to do a financial appeal when I came to register for classes. They let me go this whole semester without saying anything about this balance or an appeal. Please get them to write off the balance for this semester because it is unfair and wrongBusiness response

Please note the following information:
1. Triton College is a Governmental entity and therefore specifically not covered by the BBB in accordance with your own rules. Please dismiss this matter for cause immediately.
2. For your BBB information only: Our registration and billing procedures are made quite clear at all phases of the application and registration process. There is a drop/add period that before it expires, the student would owe less or nothing if she had dropped the classes she had registered for before that date. Tuition is only due for classes that the student herself apparently signed up for.
3. FYI, The letter dated April 26 which arrived here May 6, is the first notice I received of this matter.

Fall 2022, I signed up for a continuing education course online with Triton College. The course was for pharmacy tech and was a non credit course. I dropped the class Sept 4th online from home BEFORE the class started. The class started Sept 8th online. At no time did I receive an email as the ****** is claiming that I owed *******. In fact, I did not find out I owed anything until logging in on 12/20/2022 at 12 noon. No statements were emailed to my home either. When speaking to, "*******************," on 12/20/2022 at 12:15p, at the continuing ed ****** at Triton College, he claimed emails were sent to me . There have been no emails and no statements mailed to my home. There was nothing stating to me in writing I needed to drop this class at any other point other than before the class started. "*******************," suggested I fill out paperwork that would be sent to *********************** with the continuing ed ********** and I would receive a final decision in a few weeks. I find that unacceptable given that the class was dropped before and no notice was given. No balance statements were mailed to my home. There was nothing mailed to my home. While the class was dropped on a Sunday night and done so online through the Triton portal, at no time was any information disclosed to me in any emails or statements mailed to my home that I would still owe ******* The resolution I am asking for is for this balance to be taken off my Triton Account. The class was not taken.I did the right thing and dropped the course beforehand as I did the credit courses I had in the past.I could not take the course because my son with high functioning autism(I can provide proof of his disability) needed my help and I would of been overwhelmed taking the course. I even went back and searched old emails in spam, trash and inbox. There was nothing from Triton College ******************** Dept.Desired Settlement:I want the ******* balance for the class not taken removed from my Triton Account.
