About a year ago, I went to see Aspen Dental in Rockford IL. The location given on the bill is "Aspen Dental-2". Aspen Dental advertised free exam and x-rays so I went to see them. I was given an exam and x-rays after which I was offered various services that either were not covered by my insurance or were barely covered and would have resulted in a large bill. After seeing the amounts and having seen the low quality of service provided by this facility, I declined additional service and left. At no time was any mention made of my owing Aspen Dental payment for the exam and x-rays. Months later, I received a bill from Aspen Dental for $50. I called them and was informed that since I had insurance, the $50 is what the insurance wouldn't cover and that the free exam was only for those without insurance. This is not what I was told before agreeing to the exam. I was told there would be no charge to me for this service. This feels like a bait and switch and there have been numerous complaints against Aspen Dental for their business practices. I wrote a review of this incident on Aspen Dental's website also. Aspen Dental has now hired a debt collector to collect the $50 they say I owe. I wrote the debt collector and explained why I haven't paid the bill much as how I have described it here. I want the charge dropped and any impact on my credit rating erased and Aspen Dental needs to explain to others the actual cost of the services they provide before said service is provided.Initial Complaint

I received treatments on 11/17/23, 11/30/23, and 12/5/23. A total bills were $2269. According to the representatives of *****, the total bill should be $1116 because Aspen Dental is a part of the Aetna network. The contracting price should be $1116 not $2269. Of that $1116, ***** was supposed to be responsible for $479.8 and I was responsible for $636.2. However, I paid $751.8 on 11/30/23. Subsequently, I received a bill again for $383.30 and I paid it on 4/29/24. So I paid a total of $1135.1 instead of $636.2 as I was supposed to pay per the Aetna representatives. I had several three way conference calls with ***** and Aspen Dental representatives and The Aspen Dental representatives were informed about the overcharged bills. So far Im getting no where with the Aspen Dental for my overpaid credit or refund. Im not sure if Aetna was underpaid for my coverage or Aspen Dental overcharged for my treatments. I recently moved to rockford IL and decided to go to this place for my oral needs. When we talk about my needs they check my insurance and gave me a contract that states that I would pay around $1233.13 and the insurance would take care of the rest.I went 2 times on which I paid every time for the service I received:1st visit $588.36 2nd Visiti $410.28 a total of $998.64 leaving a remaining of $234.49 On my third appointment they told me I owed around $410.00 dollars and had the nerve to say that I didn't pay on my second visit. (I'll attach receipts)Now they're trying to charge me ****** because supposedly that's what I owe.I need help with this company and their bad billing practices.I hate when people are trying to reap me off!I have good credit and I don't want this company to Messe it up.
