At Mark Berger Motors we strive to give our customers a good value for the money that they spend with us. ***** came to us on 10-07-2022 with a limited budget and ended up buying a car for $1500.00.  The car ran good for her and she actually wrote us a review that said she was happy with her purchase of the car. ( see attached)  ***** was also seen as recent as this last Friday.... 11-25-2022..... driving her car and waved to **** as she saw him out driving one of our other cars.  ***** then text **** to thank him again for him helping her get the car she purchased from us....and again that was this past Friday November 25th.  At that point, ***** was happy with the car......happy with Mark Berger Motors.... and happy with ****, her salesperson......even texting **** to say exactly that.  When we sell a vehicle to anyone, we always want our customers to enjoy their purchase and to get as many trouble free miles as possible, but cars will always need maintenance and repairs no matter what price is paid for the car.....and we go over those details with everyone at the time of the purchase. In many cases a vehicle for $1500.00 will require more attention than a vehicle that is newer and more money...... but that's not always the case as many older cars run for a very long time with very little problems but time will be the only thing that let's us know that.   If the vehicle breaks or has a problem most customers have the problem repaired at their own mechanic then continue to drive the car. The vehicle we sold ***** was sold to her "as-is" and with no warranty and this was explained to her at the time of purchase. She was happy with the car for 7-weeks but apparently had a failure with the car in the last day or two. She sent a text to **** on Sunday (yesterday which we were closed on ) to explain the problem and asked for a loaner car which he explained that we do not have. Mark Berger Motors will always try to help our customers in some way, but the cost of repairs and maintenance for all of our customer's vehicles is something that is part of car ownership and the responsibility of the customer. It is unfortunate that ***** had a problem with the car but the car has performed good up to this point and will again with the proper repairs.  If ***** needs help in finding a good repair facility, we can recommend someone to her if she would just contact us. If ***** has interest in trading her car back into us and getting a different vehicle we will gladly work with her to get that done.  We appreciate her business and look forward to working with her again.

I am rejecting this response because: the dealership is a fraud they sale lemon cars with major problems so by selling a vehicle as is with no warranty it's bad for business they know how to not take responsibility for screwed up cars that can possibly get people seriously hurt or killed or in major accidents that's why they tell people it's sold as is they pocket our hard earned money and people like me get stuck with no car or hundreds of dollars worth of repairs

      Sincerely,

      *********************

I bought a **** ***** Suburban August of this year from this company and they knew it was problem's with the vehicle. I put $2,200 down and have a $200 car note each month which I pay, now the vehicle gas line has broke and you can't drive it without the gas coming out, and I have children that I need to take to appointments and etc. I called and and left messages and no one return my calls. I want a replacement since the vehicle is being financed and they will not get back in touch with me.

At Mark Berger Motors, Inc. we make sure our customers are aware of the conditions of which they are purchasing the vehicle they are buying from us. We do not sell extended warranties and vehicles like this Suburban that have high mileage over ******* miles are sold strictly as is and customers are made well aware of that at the time of purchase. We explain that they ( the customer) are responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the vehicle and we ( Mark Berger Motors, Inc. ) do not repair cars and the customers all agree and understand these terms. This customer's husband stopped by the dealership to tell us about his fuel leak issue and we directed him to his own mechanic for the repair.....since he purchased the vehicle "as is" and was told in no uncertain terms that the vehicle was sold as is and has no warranty and he and his wife were responsible for any and all repairs and they agreed to that like all our other customers do. This customer had purchased a vehicle from us in the past and had a similar problem with that vehicle so we wanted to be perfectly clear during the purchase of this Suburban that they would be totally responsible for all repairs and maintenance of this vehicle. ******** said it was a fuel line leak and he would take care of the problem and it did NOT seem to be a problem for him to do that on the day he stopped by the dealership. Needed repairs happen during car ownership and having a good reliable mechanic is also a must and that is what the customer and her husband were told on the day of their purchase and they agreed to that. They have owned the vehicle for over 2 months and most fuel line leak repairs are usually inexpensive to repair. We don't understand the customer's complaint after stating to us that they would take care of the problem on their own.

I bought a truck from them and the wheel broke off while driving less than 2 weeks after buying it.They sold it to me without bearing casings on the front wheels. They refused to help or even return my call. After i spent nearly ***** dollars on repairs the power steering went out less than a month later.....again the refused to help or make it right.Although they had no problem taking 300 dollars a month from me with threat of repossession.A month after that the transmission broke and left it undrivable.I have only driven my truck maybe 2 months since my purchase and have spent over ***** dollars in repairs.Today after months of them not returning my calls they kicked my son and I out of the office and refused to help us or even work with us.And they have awards all over the lobby from the BBB but they are not even accredited with a rating from the BBB.
