Contracted with ********************** Concrete to replace existing patio with 5 inches of concrete on 10/27/2021 with a one year warranty. The initial contract was for a 40x20 patio using 5 of gravel and 5 of concrete with fiber mesh mix ****. Also, he would install 2 new steps and 2 drain pipes. He assured me that no rebar was needed. Original cost $8,850 and $800 for dirt. I have a raised ranch style home so contingent on this patio was replacing a wood deck that is our access to the backyard. We contracted with ********************** for the deck as well since it was during COVID, contractors were hard to find. Mr. ********************** contacted an associate to dig the pilings and build the deck. We had to have the pilings done before ********************** could pour concrete. I had the plans for the deck ready with supply list and everything. The colleague came out that evening and started digging the holes. They passed inspection as far as depth however, he dug the holes in the wrong place! They were ready to be filled, but one of the tubes laid outside the edge of where the patio was to be poured. There was also a problem with placement of the piling for the stairs. I ended up having to find someone else who could work around the pilings and keep everything within code. My deck design had to be altered leaving me with the stairs running along the siding covering up a window and my access to the water spout. They ran the sump pump drain line under the concrete for us. I was upset that he used an old piece of 1 1/2 inch PVC that I had laying by my garden (for my own project). Code is 4 inch schedule 40 PVC. I was told he could not run the drain line going north, as I had originally asked, because there was a block of concrete (a footing for the original stair landing) which they claimed they couldnt remove or work around. I have tried for the past year and a half to have them repair the cracks. I have been given 2 dates for the repair and both have been canceled last minute.
