In June 2021, I signed a proposal for K & M Concrete to replace our driveway and walk. The work was performed in August 2021. In February, we noted some cracking in one of the slabs of the driveway and one in the walk. I called them on July 8, 2022, requesting someone come out and look at the problem, as the cracks seemed to be getting worse. They returned my call on July 12, 2022, and scheduled an appointment for July 14 at 10 am. **** came out that morning, looked at the cracks, and nonchalantly said, well the earth moves under the cement, causing the cracks. He stated that his brother, ****, would need to come out and resolve the issue. Since **** was on vacation that week, **** stated that **** would be contacting us the following week.Since I had not heard from anyone in a month, I called K & M Concrete again on August 15, 2022. The office person that answered the phone informed me that **** was extremely busy, but she would try to get a message to him. Instead of getting a call from ****, I got a text message from ****, "Hello ***** this is **** with K & M concrete When we had spoke a month or so ago my brother was going to come by and talk to you or look at it he's extremely busy would you please give him a call on his cell phone which is 630-xxx-xxxx. His name is ****".I did not call **** on his cell, instead I sent **** a text message the following day that I was extremely disappointed in his response that **** was too busy to be bothered to try to resolve the problem with my driveway. **** responded again by text, stating Lets talk tomorrow Im in an outing I cant respond. That was the last I have heard from K&M. **** never bothered to call me back and to this date, I have not heard from ****. It is my opinion that my driveway was not properly installed, as cracks appeared within 6 months time of the work being completed.Business response

The crack in the concrete did not follow the joint which is placed to create a weak point so the concrete cracks within the joint. For whatever reason, the crack went in and out of the joint. We will communicate with the homeowner to come up with a solution.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I have called the company several times, and they respond that they will call me back, but never do. They have stated now that they will follow up and contact me, but I don't believe they will. They have had plenty of opportunity to resolve this issue, but their response in the past is that they are very busy.

We spoke to ***** on 10/3/22 and told her it's a cosmetic crack. Concrete will always crack and not where you always want it to or where you direct it to which we can't control. We informed her this year would not be the year to take a section out because they are not offering the same type of mix design due to the cement shortage that is happening right now. We asked that she let it go through the winter to see if it becomes any worse, if it does we will replace it next year where it will have a better chance to match.
