In June - July 2024, I took my car in for a recurring issue: a grinding noise that intensifies with speed. I had purchased an extended warranty through the dealership and Toyota ******************* Since then, the mechanic has identified several possible causes, including a bad transmission, faulty clips on the front undermount panel, brake issues, and a wheel bearing. Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved.During my last visit, the issue was again attributed to a faulty wheel bearing, but the claim was denied due to exceeding the policy limit. I was never informed about this limit when I bought the extended warranty. *** invested significant personal time in dealing with this matter, contacting the dealership and Toyota Corporate, and spending money out of pocket for parts not covered by the warranty.I reached out to Toyota Brand Engagement, who promised to escalate the issue with the dealership, but I have yet to receive any follow-up from either party. Despite speaking with various personnel across Toyota, I continue to be given the runaround.Ive attached the case number for your reference. Im requesting that my car be repaired and that Toyota honors its extended warranty until the agreed terms are meteither ******* miles or until 10/17/2025, for any future repairs. I am not seeking a prorated refund of the extended warranty cost.I would appreciate a prompt response from either the dealership or Toyota regarding this matter.

The rain drip moldings on the roof of my 2020 Toyota Highlander came off and I took it to get fixed 4 times. The last time I was there I asked if it was finally fixed for good. The service manager told me the only fix was to not take my vehicle through a high powered car was. This seems crazy to me because I see other Highlanders going through without pieces falling off of them. I could also take my last vehicle through without a problem. Thus, I contacted Toyota brand managers and opened a case. I went through all of their procedures and June 14th, 2022, a representative from Toyota Corporate called and confirmed that the only fix is to avoid car washes. As a consumer this is not ok. I am unsatisfied. I feel like there is something wrong with my vehicle. There has to be a solution to this problem, but Toyota seems unwilling to take the time to find one. I do not believe this is a "lemon law" situation as the vehicle drives fine. It seems to be a structural malfunction or design flaw.

We have reached out the the Toyota manufacture on this concern and the determination is the vehicle is operating as designed. Those moldings are not designed to have high pressure water shot at them from different angles.

      Complaint: 17443244

I am rejecting this response because my neighbor has a 2020 Highlander and he takes it through the same car wash and has no problems. Therefore my car is either defective or your dealership has not repaired the rain drip moldings the proper way.

      Sincerely,

      ****************

We have done all that we can do. As we said the manufacture has stated the vehicle is operating as designed.

I am rejecting this response because if "all that you can do" is this, than you did not fix the problem properly. A business that states that all they can do and then leaves a product as broken is not a reliable company. A reputable business would fix the problem.
