Brought my jeep in to Max Dyes dealership automotive shop 3 months ago (june 2023)for warranty work and was assured it'd take roughly 2 weeks. Mopar had the dealership take my transmission apart then denied warranty. Finally mopar agreed to pay $1,350 in labor for teardown/put back together and installand i pay what labor won't cover. I went to the dealership on the same day and was quoted $1,385 in labor for teardown, overhaul and install(transmission was not overhauled). Finally last week (september 2023) i received a text that my jeep was done but the technician went way over on hours and they were adding over $600 in unexpected and unauthorized labor. Now they are holding my jeep and charging $876 for what was supposed to be covered by ***** and the jeeps not even fixed! Also now the service manager won't talk to me about it and directs me straight to ****(owner) who seems persistent i agreed to pay this crazy extra labor. I even showed him a copy of my estimate and he just said that was quoted after the repair(wrong). Service manager even told me he requested the amount of $1,350 to cover the labor. They can't even get me a proper bill since their computer won't let them put $1,350 credit on a bill. This has been incredibly stressful and worries me on the state of my jeep when i finally do get it back!

We would like to address each concern . First, ************** Jeep was in our ****************** for the better part of three months. The reason for this is we were waiting on ************* Contracts to get back to us multiple times after they ask us to check certain items related to the repair. There were also three appeals that the dealership did for the customer to try and get a full repair on this Jeep transmission. We agree, the Jeep was in our shop way to long and ************* Contracts was very unresponsive. After multiple communications with *****, we finally were given $1350 in credit to help put the Jeep back together in working order. The warranty company did not agree to fix the transmission due to modifications. The dealership did not agree with this finding. Max Dye Inc. appealed the decision for the customer three times. Three times ************* Contracts turned down the claim. We feel we did all we could to help the customer and we feel the same frustration. ************** was made aware that he would be responsible, as he states above, for any charges over the $1350 credit received from ************* Contracts weather he fully repaired the Jeep or he just wanted the Jeep put back in working order. He chose the later. After the Transmission was torn down and put back together, total charges over the $1350 credit came to $876 parts and labor. As for holding his Jeep for payment, this is standard practice in any business. When you pay, you get to take your vehicle. ************** is right, it has been an incredibly stressful situation for both he and the dealership.
