I had an accident on 2/24/2024 at about 9:15am. I asked the responding officer to have my own towing company used that was listed on my insurance card. He said that they can't use my own towing. My vehicle was not blocking traffic and I was able to pull it off the main road. I ended up paying for towing by Leyden Windy City towing. I called the towing company on the same day about 12:00pm and was told they are closed on the weekends and they are only open until 4pm during the week. I work until 6pm during the week. I am off on Tuesdays of each week. I had to go to the towing yard on Tues. Upon arrival in the morning, I was told it has to be cash only and insurance is needed. I was charged for the Sat and Sun they were closed for storage fees. I don't feel I should be charged for the days they are closed because I can't do anything to prevent the storage fees. The counter worker was extremely rude and I felt like I was bothering her by being there.I would like to be refunded for Sat and Sun because I was unable to do anything.
