Having retired as the previous Vice President of Mission and ************** at Advocate ******** *********************** I was asked to come on November 14, 2021 to Maggianos in ****** to say a prayer at a retirement celebration that was being hosted by ***** for a nurse that was retiring from Advocate ******** *********************** When I prepared to leave the celebration, I changed my shoes and left them in a chair outside the room where the celebration took place while I used the restroom. I left the restroom and went to my car and left because it had started to snow. I forgot my shoes. I remembered I had forgotten them when I got back to the city and I immediately called back. I was very descriptive about my shoe bag and shoes, ie, the bag had Alpha Kappa Alpha on it and ************* and the shoes were taupe colored and they were J. Renees. The person I spoke with told me she found them and would put them under the hospitality desk. The snow was coming down hard and it had gotten dark. I told her I would pick them up the next day. She told me that would be fine. My former Colleague, ***** went by to pick up the shoes for me and they sent her back with several pairs of old shoes which none of them fit the description of my shoes. I called back and spoke to two managers at Maggianos. They said they would do an investigation. They did an investigation and called me back and, the ********************* ( I have his phone number) told me that they did find out that the shoes had been there and that someone in their organization had taken the shoes and they would replace them. He apologized and asked me to send him the bill for the shoes, the color, etc. I sent him the receipt for the shoes, a pic of the shoe box at my home that had the shoe name and color. He assured me they would send me a check. I never heard from him again. I made several calls and sent an email to ******************************** I would like to receive payment for my shoes.
