We performed a cam job to the customers car. While working on the vehicle we noticed that the mileage was significantly higher than the odometer was reading. That or the car was significantly neglected. We brought these things to the customers attention. The cam bearings were worn out and showing copper, several of the emissions hoses were cracking, the radiator steam port line cracked, the balancer was going bad, the tensioner was going bad and it was showing it's age (the car is 21 years old). We finished the job as instructed. The car ran fine but had an issue with the torque converter acting up. Customer stated it was locking and unlocking. We didn't touch the trans but we had him bring it back. We flashed the trans tune back to stock and the converter stopped locking but occasionally it didn't want to move in reverse when the car was cold. Customer blamed this on us, we consulted with our trans shop and they recommended changing the trans filter/fluid. When we drained the fluid, it was black and seemed to be the original fluid from 21 years ago. We changed it with fresh fluid, changed the filter and the collar that it attaches too. The collar seemed to be cracked and was most likely the issue. We serviced the trans at no charge even though this was clearly an existing issue. Modifying cars that are 20+ years old can be difficult and we mentioned that at the beginning. Customer could have gone to any shop in the country and would have run into these same issues.Initial Complaint

We took our car to this business for some mechanical work. We explained that this car is not to be washed or have anything done to the exterior. He told us the work we wanted would take 2-3 weeks. After 7 weeks we called and informed him that we wanted the car back and he said it wasnt done. After we said thats fine and we were done waiting he said he had to finish a few things and we could come get it. When we arrived, with our UHaul rental trailer, in the rain, we went to settle the ****. The car was in the shop, of which there was very little lighting so being able to look it over was nearly impossible. Since it was raining we just wanted to get it loaded, since we live 4 hours away. Once we got home and started to look over the car, in the sunlight, on the trailer, with dirty rain water, we noticed many, many surface scratches. We proceeded to take pictures and sent them to him. He has admitted to using a detail spray to wipe off their fingerprints and an oiled, ********** duster to wipe down the car. When I called him to ask how he wanted to take care of the damage he proceeded to avoid his wrong doing. After a few more attempts to contacting him on how to correct his negligence he has ignored, blocked and went on to calling us names. When exposing his emails and messages of how he admitted to his damages he still remains to play the blame game. All we want is for him to accept his wrong doing and to pay his part to make it right.
