I have a dryer that is acting funny and not shutting off when it's supposed to. I didn't purchase this unit from Dick Van Dyke, however I have always used their repair service. Today I was told that if I didn't purchase my unit from Dick Van Dyke Appliances they couldn't help me. Why do you claim to have a repair service then? If it's just for your customers then it needs to be specified on the website or wherever you post things! Not happy at all and I will share this with family and friends, horrible customer service. They didn't guide me to anyone else or help with solutions.Review from Dale E

Our church purchased a G E stove with the 5-year -10-year warranty and the installation of an exhaust system. The salesperson raised no issue that we were a commercial operation. It is later alleged that the salesman lacked authority to include such a 5 year & 10 year warranty plan. The stove was delivered and developed issues with the monitor board and a repair technician came out. Instead of unplugging the stove from the wall plug he began the repairs without this safety factor being employed. At that time the stove became unusable, and a new stove was ordered. The second stove was delivered and installed. From that point, part failures have occurred, and it is time now for the 4th part. They want the church for the 4th part installation due to a “commercial exposure.” This commercial usage exclusion for the first 3 attempted repairs was not raised. We are not interested in paying the $266.22 repair bill.Review from Mary B

I would not recommend Dick Van Dyke Appliance to my worst enemy. I have a washing machine less then three years ol and I have had the same issue with it for a third time. I have to wait a minimum of a month to six weeks for the part to come in.Review from Kim P

I have always bought my appliances here. The first time this business failed. Dick Van Dyke sent a repair man out for my dishwasher. I paid 75 dollars for the call and was told the parts had to be ordered and could take awhile. Never heard back from them for 30 days. Called today was told they sent part back and il out my 75 dollars and they would have to charge 75 dollars to come out and assess my repair again lol!! Seriously?? What a scam.. nobody called us .. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me no.. I could talk to a customer service lol.. what a Dick . No pun intended.. wow .. ?? never again.. lost a valued customer over years of buying from your store .Review from Katelyn C

I am very dissatisfied with my DVD experience. They came to repair my dryer which is just 3 years old on 2/21/24. The techniciation said it was fixed. We have had problems with it ever since! I shouldn't have to slam my dryer door shut for it to turn on(technicication said it was a latch). Called and left a message, it started working again so they never came back out. On 4/30/24 dryer isn't working again. They can't come out until 5/9/24!!! I have a family of 5 and cannot go without a dryer for over a week! They also told me I would have to pay the milege fee again since I am 5 miles over their range. I asked why I should have to pay again when I paid the first time and it wasn't fixed! They said because it's been over 30 days! So every other month I am going to have to pay when they come out to fix it?! I also asked to talk to a supervisor/boss and the customer service lady told me that she is trained to deal with this kind of stuff! By all the bad reviews it doesn't look like to me that DVD has very many satisfied customers! This will be the last time I buy from them! Not happy at all!!!Review from Tracy P

Ever since I was old enough to have my own house I've always done every bit of my appliance shopping and repair with this location. After my experience today, I will take all of my business elsewhere once all my warranties expire. Two repair technicians were at my home today to look at my refrigerator and told me they have no idea what's wrong with it so they will start with a new motherboard. That takes 5 to 7 days to come in and then another several days to get put on the schedule for them to come replace the board. They suggested I call the store and asked to speak with the service department manager as she was the only one that could assist me with getting a loaner refrigerator or to see if I had any other options available to move things along more quickly. A guy named Austin answered the phone. I explained the repair technicians told me I needed to call and speak to a manager named Angel. He said he could put her on the phone but that he could most likely help me so I explained the situation to him. He did not have any answers that made any sense whatsoever. I asked for a manager. He was a sarcastic arrogant jerk and refused to give me the manager. I will never shop with them ever again. It's absolutely unacceptable to be told you are not allowed to speak to a manager. The technicians told me I could call and ask for a loaner refrigerator. When I did that I was told that's only if they have one available and they will check and get back to me. Their service has gone downhill so badly and I will never go through this again. I will take my business out of town if necessary. A sevice repair man named Vince from the Decatur, Illinois store came to our home to fix our dryer. He was professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the repairs he had to make. I would recommend making your household purchases at Dick Van Dyke because they stand by their products and warranties. Having repairs done are stressful, Vince made everything better.Review from Jean B

I cannot express how disappointed I am in our latest purchase with DVD. We purchased a KitchAid refrigerator/freezer and it has been nothing but headaches. We agreed to take our model with a dented door which they would replace for free. Turns out they never ordered the new door until we inquired after waiting a full month. Then after replacing the door we've now had issues with our ice maker and control board - whereby ice maker doesn't work and the refrigerator doesn't cool properly (cooling at 55 degrees). Took over 2 weeks and a couple phone calls to get the part -- AND THIS IS OUR REFRIGERATOR WHICH IS NOT COOL ENOUGH TO STORE PERISHABLES. Next, scheduling repair is a huge hassle whereby they give you a window but haven't hit it the last 2 times (even though I explained I wouldn't be there at a certain time period). So if you need repairs, expect to waste your whole day waiting - and they explain sorry but this is how it is. So we've now had 3 repair visits costing our time to schedule and stay home. Not at all what I expect. We purchase there for service but big box stores are just as good.Review from David B

Put it simple. It is all great until it breaks. Washer is still out of commission (3 weeks now) after 3 different parts and 3 different service calls and now we have to wait another week just for a technician to look at it again. Has more issues now then it did to start with. Buy from a place with a better service dept.!
