I called Countryside Roofing to get an estimate on a temporary tarp for my weather damaged roof on Thursday September 28th. I was quoted $450.00 and was told that the representative would meet with me at my home on Monday October 2nd at 4PM. On Friday September 28th I arrived home at approximately 12:30PM to find a poorly installed patch on my roof and the company's van in my alley... I went up to the vehicle to ask what was going on and was told by the installer that his work order was to install a tarp today. I told him that I did not agree to this, and no one should be on my property while I was not home. After the installer left, I received a scathing phone call by someone else saying that they were calling from Countryside Roofing and that they would report me to collections if I did not pay the invoice. Since I did not agree to this service, I would not be paying for it. I IMMEDIATELY started to receive harassing phone calls from a collection company. I never signed a contract with this company. I never received an invoice.Countryside roofing trespassed on my property, performed a service that I did not agree to, and is now harassing me to pay an invoice that they have not generated because no agreement or contract was ever made.

      Hi,

************** called our office to request a service, we told him we can tarp it next week. However, ************** insisted that we come out and do emergency repair the next day and he agreed to the quoted price of $450. We have a recording of this entire conversation and we can provide that if necessary. We were able to make arrangements and tarp the roof in 24 hours as requested by him, all of this again is on a recorded line. ************** knew that we are doing the repair and after we were finished he came out and said he does not want it anymore because his other roofer who originally he told us does not want to help him is going to help now. The reason for the emergency tarp was because ************** was having issues with his contractor who took out shingles to file insurance claim. Our meeting on Monday October 2nd was to provide estimate on replacing the entire roof and confirm if there is in fact damage. We have billed him $450 as we provided the service requested. Again, all of this is on a recorded line, would be happy to provide anytime. Thank you!

On October 13, 2021, I signed an agreement with Countryside Roofing to tear-off and replace the roof on my home.In the process of Countryside replacing my roof, damage occurred to my home. Damage is as follows:The Cathedral Ceiling joint in the living room where it meets the outside wall was damaged from workers dropping packs of shingles on the roof.Three screens were sliced from shingles during the tear-off phase.Black tar marks were left on the West, South and East sides of the house during the tear-off phase. On November 16th, ************************* came to my home to pick-up the three damaged screens and to use degreaser to remove the black tar marks on the siding. At that time I said it could wait until after the Thanksgiving holiday to be repaired. On November 17th, you had ******* from Countryside Roofing come to my house to repair the damaged ceiling with drywall tape and joint compound. I gave ******* a check for the remaining balance of $9,491.90 at that time.To date, I have not had any contact by yourself or anyone else from Countryside. I will need the following tasks done to my satisfaction to complete the project. The drywall work in the living room will need another coat of joint compound with a skim coat. The joint tape is visible. The three screens replaced with matching color and material. There is also a tar **** on the West side, chest high, to the left of the fireplace that will need to be removed.Another tar **** on the East side, 9 feet up, to the right of the air compressor will need to be removed.Removal of the degreaser residue used to remove tar marks. You tried to pass it off to me to complete in the Spring. Your company made the marks and you need to remove / clean the residue. In your proposal, referring to the replacement of plywood it states, I will either photo the damaged wood or have it on the ground for your review if requested. I requested it, neither was done. Seeking $210 reimbursement.

I am rejecting this response because: Countryside Roofing did not complete the repairs. Their repairman, *******, was last at my house on Friday, February 11. He sprayed the siding of my house with a chemical and that did not remove the degreasing residue. He said he had no idea how to remove the residue but would be back on Tuesday, February 15. In addition, he would bring the last ripped screen back to me and continue fixing the drywall cathedral ceiling in the living room. Tuesday, February 15 came and went and ******* was a no call, no show. At that time I knew Countryside Roofing was not going to show up anymore to do the repairs. I called ******* in Sales on February 23 to return my ripped screen. He returned the screen that afternoon. The ceiling in the living room actually needed drywall replaced as ******* the Repairman just used joint compound to cover cracks that were greater than one half inch. Within a half year the ceiling repair would all be cracking. He was a novice at best. He did not even have tarps, sanding pad, portable light and was using old joint compound from his house from what he told me. My ceiling and siding repairs have not been completed. It's apparent Countryside Roofing wants nothing to do with me anymore.

      Sincerely,

      Complaint: 16420885

I am rejecting this response because: My siding is not dirty. I personally cleaned it myself two years ago. My complaint is that their Salesman **** sprayed degreaser on the tar stains left from shingles hitting the side of the house. This left a residue or film on the siding. Their repairman **** tried to remove the residue off the house twice and was unsuccessful.

My house is not Thirty years old for your information.

In regards to drywall damage in my living room, there is nothing in their contract about inside work or repairing damage to the inside of the house. In speaking with their Salesman ****, he told me that they do have roofing employees that accidentally put their feet through ceilings. When that happens they repair the damage.

Countryside is responsible for cleaning / repair / replacement to my siding. They are also responsible for repairing the drywall in my living room. Additionally, they ruined three window screens with shingles hitting them. They returned three screens to me but one of them was ripped on two sides and repairman **** took it back with him to repair a second time. He said he would bring the repaired screen back with him the next week. He never called or showed up. I had to call **** in Sales to get my screen returned weeks later.

The owner of Countryside Roofing is not telling the truth.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

Summer 2018 Countryside Roofing was hired to do several tasks following a fire in my house including roof, siding and window replacement. Most jobs were done with the exception of two storm windows. They tried to replace just the screens but were not successful. On 6/12/19 I paid most of the **** but withheld some payment until they finished the job. The salesman ***** promised to replace the window asap. Several times during the summer I was promised that the window would be changed with no action being taken. On 11/22/19 ***** said that it would be finished in 2 weeks. He said that he could replace the window from the outside without me being there. ( I was out of town for a couple months ).1/14/20 He said that the work was complete. When I returned I found a window that will not open... Several emails later it still has not been fixed... 5/6/21 - waiting for a new window... 6/18/21 - 6 weeks waiting when will it be done? He replied next week. 8/25/21 It had been over 10 more weeks...***** then said 2 more weeks because they were backed up. It has been 3 more months and still no action. As I explained to ***** that a window has to do two things...open and close. My window does neither.
