date of incident - May 4, 2023 location of Countryside Animal Clinic - **************************************************** My pet was taken to the clinic for a teeth cleaning. Upon picking him up it was discovered that the clinic had made the decision to remove teeth. At no point in time as the owner was I informed of this possibility. I was not contacted prior to it happening, decision was made completely without my knowledge. My pet is a senior rescue, prior to his adoption all but four of his teeth were removed because of dental issues. Countryside Animal Clinic removing teeth left my pet without any teeth at all. I do feel that this absolutely should of been discussed prior to happening. The decision to have a pet become toothless without owner consent or knowledge is extreme and warrants a discussion. I did contact the clinic immediately and was told that what happened is standard procedure. I was also given what seemed like an unsympathetic apology and a "what would you like me to do? I can't put the teeth back in the dog's mouth". The attitude of the staff I interacted felt very dismissive, yes there was an apology however it was given with a **** leaving me even more upset.Business response

The protocol here at Countryside Animal Clinic has always been to discuss the possibility of extractions during the examination when the dental is scheduled. In this case, we apologize for a lack of clear communication. Protocol has been reviewed with our staff and consent forms have been revised in an attempt to prevent a similar situation in the future. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I certainly hope that protocol is followed and patients are properly informed of information BECAUSE in my case it was not. This situation was extremely upsetting to my entire family.
