My 83 year old mother hired Bogie's Handyman Services, now possibly calling themselves Affordable *********************************** Services, to remodel her bathroom, put flashing up, and install gutters. She hired him in April 2021 (We do have all the exact dates if needed, and screenshots of the texting/contract information- - which mysteriously disappeared after our conflict). We knew that there was a leak in the window, and **********************************, THE handyman, assured me that he would put flashing up first and fix the leak. He didn't. Instead, he did a beautiful job remodeling the bathroom and everyone was happy...until it rained and we noticed the window still leaked. In JULY, ******* put up the flashing and unfortunately it did not solve the problem. He had also been pre-paid $900 for gutters and was to have put those up. He didn't. My mom ran out of time, and she asked him to return the money. He didn't. He still has her $900 for the gutters, since April, and has not installed them or delivered them. We offered to go to his house, meet him on another job site, etc. since he doesn't drive. We requested the funds through *****...********************, his wife or girlfriend/partner/business associate refused our request and her Venmo "handle" changed. The texting conversation grew ugly, he said "all our face to face dealings were done." We would still like our $900 dollars returned. That was the amount that was needed for the gutters and we have no gutters... we did have a police officer visit and ******* mentioned that he had time and energy involved in getting the gutters (this we believe is a lie, as we have never seen the gutters). We would be happy to have $800 back if he needs to be compensated for this probable lie. Attached are copies of our texts. Your help is greatly appreciated. He will say that he hurt his back, and as there is probably truth in that, but he had plenty of opportunity and I believe my mom was extremely generous and patient.
