Received Charges and late fee for no services rendered. Called Chris & Company on Feb 2nd for snow removal after snow storm. Was informed by Chris the crew will remove snow later that evening on Feb 2nd or on Feb 3rd morning. No one showed up and I did not receive any calls for delays from Chris & Company. I hired another company to remove snow on Feb 4th, since the Chris & Company failed to service per agreed terms of the dates of services. Chris and Company showed up on Feb 5th and sent me a bill for visit charge of $45 and $35 dollars for late fee if not paid by 2/15, and the note they will report to credit bureaus the delinquent account after 60 days. I have sent them $80 dollars check that my bank has advised should arrive at the Chris & Company's address listed on the invoice by Feb 28.Business response

We received the call during the February snowstorm for snow removal. The snowstorm was the worst in over 10 years, with very high winds, heavy snow and several city roads were not yet cleared and country roads were impassible. Interstates and other roads were completely closed by ISP. We did not promise an exact date, only that we would try to get out there as soon as we could considering the roads. We asked the customer to notify us if someone else cleared their drive before we haul our equipment and caterpillar out. When our crew arrived, the driveway was clear. Per the complaint, the customer had it cleared the 4th and hand ample time to notify us before we arrived the following day. We had not received any calls from the customer cancelling our service. The trip charge is typical as there is gas and payroll expenses to come out. Late fees are also standard practice to ensure customers pay in a timely manner. The $80 check was recently received on March 8th, 2022. We have cashed the check. The charges are valid.Tell us why here...Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I was told on the phone that the company had the crew out 3rd Feb and they would come by clear the snow in the evening or next day morning. It is certainly not true that company crew could not travel due to closure as they were already out clearing snow for others as I was told. In addition there was another company that had their crew come and clear my driveway on Feb 4. Roads and highways were not closed as stated in the reply. This company should be investigated for it's practices as I am sure there are other customers who may have charged without any services provided.
