Lousy customer **********************! Put out a request on ******** for local tree companies and got a response from A-Unlimited Tree Service. I sent them my address along with a request their free estimate for a "large tree behind the house to be taken down and ***** ground up and two more stumps nearby to be ground up".The next day I get an email that they will be out in the morning. I asked what time because we had another appointment that morning. She writes back that it was a mistake--it will be the next morning. Next morning comes and goes and we see no one, no ring of the doorbell, no dogs barking at anyone in our yard. I emailed to find out what time they were coming. She responded that there was an estimate in the mailbox. Not much for details on the estimate. So I emailed for clarification because we have no idea what they looked at and I asked if the cost would be different if they estimated the wrong tree/stumps because we have several in our yard and wanted specific ones to be worked on. She writes back that they looked at "The only 2 stumps , one inside fence, one outside and the tree inside fence near home. I was told a estimate on 2 stumps near each other and then the tree itself. Is this not right ?I wrote back that this was not correct. We had two stumps outside of a chain link fence that we wanted ground up (along with the removal and ***** grinding of a tree inside the chain link fence) and that it would have been helpful to know when someone was coming so that we could have shown them exactly what we wanted done. In my original description of what we wanted done, I did not mention anything about a fence or what was inside or outside of that fence. We have several fences in our back yard, multiple trees and a few tree stumps. We were interested in certain ones to be worked on. She responded back that she "meant" two stumps outside the fence. In addition, she then tells me that the estimates are free but that it is $125.00 for an in-person consultation! I then wrote back that we were not going to pay a fee for an in-person consultation when their worker could not be bothered to even check to see that we were home and notify us that he was on site, looked at who knows what, gives us a fairly vague estimate, which we had to inquire about for clarification. She then misquotes me for the wrong stumps, tries to correct herself, and then tells me that we will need to pay for an in-person consultation? I told her I would post our communications online and let the public draw their own conclusions about the quality of their business. Then, instead of trying to salvage a business opportunity, she opted to threaten me: "Please do so when move forward with a slander case. We dont have time to work for folks like yourself. Ill be waiting". This response was followed by "Stop responding, last warning ! ". Note, this last response was issued even though I did not respond to the first threat of a slander case. Terrible office personnel, terrible service, worthless free estimate. Not a company worth doing business with. We will move on and find another company. If I could leave a negative star rating, I would do so. I am only giving 1 star because that is my only option.
