The alternator was purchased at ******************* and I installed it on my **** truck. The alternator was working fine for 3 months than the battery died thinking something was wrong with the battery I purchased a new battery and a week later that battery died too. I used my fluke volt meter and realized my alternator went from **** volts to **** volts I could hear my alternator going on and off I checked my belt tension nothing was wrong with it so I decided to return the alternator thinking it was faulty and get it warranteed. When I went to ******************* I was told the alternator would be sent to the manufacturer for exchange. After 3 weeks of not getting a response I called the store and was told the alternator would NOT be warranteed because the belt was slipping and that the alternator was installed incorrectly per the manufacturer. I have over 15 yrs experience as a professional mechanic for them to indicate the alternator was installed incorrectly and than I was told I would need to pay for shipping to get my faulty alternator back in pieces. An hour later I get call from the manufacturer spoke to *** ** was very unprofessional laughing and insulting my mechanic skills. He would not give me a valid reason for the faulty alternator after I explained to him how an alternator works and why their reasons for not warranting made no sense all he would do is blame me and laugh everytime I tried to request a legit reason for not warranting the part. I could of bought a part made in another country paid a fraction of the cost and received a ****** free warranty but I decided to buy from an American manufacturer thinking I would get better service better quality and warranty but instead I got blamed for the faulty alternator my mechanic skills were questioned and was told I would be responsible for shipping to get back my faulty alternator that was in pieces. I was offered no resolution other than suggesting I go to Auto Zone next time for parts.
