Response to Better Business Bureau consumer complaint #********
In May 2019 Summit Roofing entered into a contract with customer identified as *************************************** (***** **************** ***********, ******** *****) to perform a partial roof replacement.  The customer was advised that some structural defects were noted on the south west slope of her home and that a flat roofing material would provide better protection. The customer insisted on having shingles removed and replaced. All work was completed without issue and payment in the amount of $3,450.00 for services was received from the customer in June 2019. During the summer of 2019, the customer called and related that ********************** crews damaged the grass in front of her home.  Summit Roofing paid to have the customers front lawn raked and reseeded at no cost the customer. During the fall of 2020 the customer related that metal drip edge was sticking up. Summit Roofing paid to have the drip edge removed and replaced with new at no cost to the customer. During the winter of 2021 the customer related that she observed staining on her ceiling and believed she had a leak.  Summit Roofing paid to have in excess of 20 of snow removed off the effected portion of the roof at no cost to the customer.  The customer was advised the staining was most likely do to ice damming caused by the record amount of snowfall sitting on her roof, and defects were noted on the roof at the time.  During the spring/summer of 2021 the customer again related the staining was still on her ceiling. Summit Roofing inspected the roof, caulked and sealed shingle edges as requested by the customer with no cost to the customer. The interior staining on the ceiling had not increased since the winter of 2021. In February 2022 the customer related the staining was getting worse. On February 28, 2022 Summit Roofing met with the customer and found all conditions to be the same as previously noted.  On February 28, 2022 Summit Roofing advised the customer the section of ********************** in question would be completely removed and replaced once the weather broke, at no cost to the customer. The customer was also advised that once roof repairs were completed, Summit Roofing would have her ceiling scraped and painted.  On March 1, 2022 the customer called ********************** and demanded immediate interior repairs. The customer was advised that interior repairs would be completed once roof repairs were completed. On March 4, 2022 Summit Roofing was advised by BBB of this active complaint.  Summit Roofing works hard to achieve customer satisfaction.  Sadly, it does not appear as though any corrective action taken by Summit Roofing to address this customers complaints, are satisfactory to the customer. At this point ********************** will offer the customer a 50% refund of funds paid ($1,725.00) and severe ties with this customer.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. *************)
      Respectfully,

Second and Final Response to Better Business Bureau consumer complaint #********
      RE: *************************************** (***** **************** ***********, ******** *****)
      Dear ********,
Summit Roofing submitted a response to you and the Better Business Bureau on March 6, 2022, after which you asked Summit Roofing to complete the discussed partial roof replacement.  As promised, on the morning of March 15, 2022 Summit Roofing dispatched a six-man roofing crew, a crew ******* and a company representative to your home to complete repairs. Prior to the start of any roof work, you accused crew members of damaging your shrubbery and scratching your gutters.  ******** ******* assured you that no damage was done to your shrubbery or your gutters at which time you demanded that your gutters were cleaned by crew members.  Our crew members were very accommodating and were waiting for direction from their crew *******.  When the crew ******* and company representative advised you that roof work was to begin, you demanded a second opinion from another third party roofer and stated that you expected Summit Roofing to pay for the third party inspection.  When you were advised that the existing section of roof would be completely torn off and replaced with new materials you began to make additional unrealistic demands. You then advised Summit Roofing that you would not allow any work to be performed on your home today.  Summit Roofing has gone above and beyond to address your complaints and concerns to no avail.  As a result of your decision today, Summit Roofing had to return materials and pay personnel who were not allowed to work.  Summit Roofing cannot absorb wasted material and labor costs.  Summit Roofing agreed to remove and replace the section of roof under warranty even after it was learned that a third party roofing company performed work at your request. Your unreasonable dismissal of crew members is completely unacceptable.  All work would have been completed today and your complaints would have been addressed. As crew members were loading materials and tools you were telling them you planned on filing additional complaints against Summit Roofing.  Summit Roofing is committed to all of our customers and your actions are troublesome.
Summit Roofing works very hard to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and our team members have worked very hard to make you happy.  Sadly, it once again does not appear as though any reasonable level of corrective action taken by Summit Roofing to address your numerous complaints, are satisfactory to you.At this point Summit Roofing has made the decision to refund you 100% of your investment ($3,450.00) along with an additional $150.00 to have the stain on your ceiling painted. Unfortunately, Summit Roofing has been left with no other options than to permanently sever all ties with you as customer. Please find attached a check in the amount of $3,600.00.
      Respectfully,

      Complaint: 16821632

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

      *****************************************
The letter has full of complaints against me which are 100% untrue& I totally deny it.
The company is trying to hide their mistakes they made, by portraying me as a very rude person.
I talked to them very politely when they showed up at my doorstep on 15th March at 8:00AM without calling me! They said they replaced flat roof which was untrue & I proved to them with a copy of their own ESTIMATE.
They are trying to hide their rudeness & insult they showed towards me for 2 whole years ignoring all my phone calls & e-mails.
They responded to me only when I said that I will inform BBB.
I did take a 2nd opinion from another company regarding the flat roof & the gentleman said, "the angle is not suitable for shingles & Summit Roofing should have installed flat roof in the first place" (which Summit Roofing did NOT mention in their estimate & went ahead by replacing shingles)
Summit Roofing has left a cheque in my mailbox yesterday late evening since I left my home only at 7:15PM, without informing me that they are coming & I came to know only now, when I read their e-mail that a cheque was left in my mailbox!!
Iam not at accepting the way they are resolving this problem.
