Called ****** on Wednesday, July 13th asking to rent a Chipper. The salesmen had told me it was going to be a $1,500 hold on my credit card. We picked up the machine on Wednesday at 4pm. We used the machine the following day the, the 15th and brought back the machine Friday the 16th at 8am. I checked my account and they charged my card $2,000. It was already processed. The money was not just pending. And now they are charging for 2 days because we did not bring the machine back by 5pm Thursday. I have rented ***** grinders, chippers, and *** cats from Alexander ********* and Vermeer. Never have I ever been charged for 2 days when I only used the machine for one. I talked to *** and he did not care at all. I told him we would never do business with them again and he responded with that's fine.Business response

This customer called to reserve a chipper for the week. He was told the rental would be $1500 for the week and that a credit card was required for that amount plus a deposit. We require a security deposit of between 30-40% of the rental. A $2000 deposit was originally charged to the customers card. Once the rental is complete/returned, the difference between the total rental and the deposit is refunded to the card. The customer signed the contract and accepted the optional damage waiver for the equipment. Our contract states that rentals are based on the time the equipment is picked up until the time the equipment is returned. The customer picked up the equipment at ****** on 7/13/22 and returned it two days later, 7/15/22 at 9:01am. Based on the time the customer had the chipper, he was charged the two-day rental rate plus damage waiver. The $1175 difference was refunded to the customers credit card from the original $2000 security deposit and total amount paid was $825 on 7/15/22.
