On September 22, 2023 I went to a hair braider shop located in Woodridge. I showed the owner and the girl who was braiding hair picture of what I wanted. Also, I provided products (hair extension) to use to braid my hair. When the hair stylist made it to the top layer of hair, I told the hair braider that this is not looking like the picture and needs to be thicker. Even the owner asked her to take another look at the picture because its not looking like the hairstyle. After she finish I told the owner this doesn't look like the picture. I paid her $200 in Zelle. I woke up the next Morning and my hair was twisting and the braids was shrieking. I call the owner and explained the situation and she agreed the hairstyle was inaccurate. She said she would call me back with a situation. She called me back asking if I could come in the same day and I told her I couldn't come cause I had a busy schedule and her shop was closed on Sundays. She said she will call me back. I wait 4 hours and no call. So texted and called her back requesting 50% of my money back since this is the incorrect style and the braids is twisting. She told she it to busy and stop bugging and hung up the phone.Initial Complaint

I booked an appointment for Friday 5/5 through Booksy for knotless box braids. The amount stated $250 with a prepayment of $62.50 ($187.50 balance). When I arrived and the stylist by the name of **** assessed by hair, she began speaking to Anette in their native tongue. I was then told the price would be $280. Although it was $30 more, I agreed because I wanted my hair braided before surgery. The stylist completed my hair and was tipped $36 cash and I paid the new remaining balance of $218 via Zelle to Anette.Knotless boxbraids can last anywhere from 1-2 months (longer depending on peraonal preference). By the next week braids had started to slip. I returned to the shop 5/11 to have braids replaced. Anette attributed the slipping to my hair being short & silky. She knew the condition of my hair prior to the service being provided. Instead of giving her professional opinion, due to my hair texture and length, the braids may not last, she increased the price of service. To date, I have lost and additional 18 braids along the front, back and middle of my head. My natural hair is coming out the braids and I have a lot of tensions as the braids continue to slide. I sent pictures and multiple text to Anette for a resolution. She was not able to accommodate the dates/times I was available, nor was she able ro give me an answer regarding prevention of the samething happening as my texture/length of hair remains the same. I offered two solutions: provide a voucher/written document to have my hair rebraided at no cost once hair grows out or refund my $280. I was to no refunds are given but nowhere on the website is this stated.
