Dont waste your time or money with this guy. He was supposed to build me a deck back in June but kept putting me off. Finally, on September 4th, we signed a contract, I paid a deposit, and work was to begin right away and take only about 5 days. Well here we are in the middle of November and nothing has been done!! ****** never even submitted plans to the county nor obtained a permit or bond! Nothing! He comes up with excuses, he lies, he gaslights. Hes the most unambitious guy Ive ever met in my life. He seems no different than so many contractors who like to take deposits and not do any work. Then my guess is he ends up doing the work or returning money when hes pushed or threatened with a lawsuit. Hes refused to return my deposit so *** turned the matter over to my attorney. I guess some people need to learn the hard and expensive way, probably including a judgment and lien. Always due your due diligence before hiring anyone. Ive learned that Jerzy decks doesnt even exist, it dissolved several years ago. He has judgments against him (one for more than $5k from Fox Lumber), pre-foreclosure, etc. My guess is he doesnt have insurance and probably doesnt pay income tax. I urge anyone looking to have a deck built to contact a local, legit, reputable, insured, registered & bonded company. Also, make sure the contractor obtains a permit from the village or county. I dont think he believes in getting permits. Im looking into it now with towns I know hes done work in. Contractor s and homeowners can be fined if no permit was obtained
