We hired *** August 24th to re-side our home. On October 7th, his team came to re-side our home after telling us our material was in. The siding was torn off and two days later the team wanted us to select another color. Our impression is that we were getting the same quality agreed in our contract and that was the reason we were waiting several months for the job to start. A couple of days after application, the siding started to warp - it was not the quality we had agreed on. After 7 months of going back and forth on a date of completion, *** finally visited our home on May 4th. The contractor he had brought out with him had agreed it was the lower quality siding, not what was agreed on via the signed agreement. There was an argument between him and my husband where he claimed that we vandalized our own siding, even though we had shown him 2 other houses on our block with the same problem. I pulled out the invoice, it was agreed that all of the sidings would be replaced with the DD4 siding as listed in the invoice signed by us and his company. As of this date, only the primary house siding had been installed. The shakes had not been installed. We have not heard from him since this visit. It's been 10 months and the project is still not finished.I have before and after photos, showing he was aware that this was a problem we wanted to fix and he guaranteed that he would place quality siding on our house. I also have the progression of the warping as of 4 days after it was installed. We have spoken to a lawyer and *** has clearly violated Indianas Home Improvements Contracts Act.

      To whom it may concern,

We installed customer selected siding on Mr ***** ******************** entire residence. After installing, the *** Elks expressed dissatisfaction with the size of siding.  We went over the contract and noted they opted to go with a less costly siding, and it was installed. After months of complaining and receiving phone calls, we then decided as a good customer service gesture, to remove all of the siding and re-side a second time.  After, two or three months we received a called during COVID that her siding was "melting".  We sent over a 20-year siding professional to view the area the area that had "melted" the west side of the house. Only to the experts amazing the siding had been vandalized and torched.  We then explained to ******************** we would send photos to insurance inspector and their assessment was this was vandalism. His recommendation they contact their homeowner's insurance company to submit a claim. There are no refunds on vandalism and our attorneys are prepared to do whatever is necessary to thoroughly and aggressive defend this matter.

      Regards,
      J ******

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In response to ***** response. This is incredibly misleading. They installed siding the sides of our home and the back. The Shakes for the ***** were never installed. The siding was low-grade, not the siding that was listed on the signed contract. We were not dissatisfied with the size, we were dissatisfied with the quality because it was not the quality we had paid for. After we had complained about the warping of the siding, Jays team replaced 1/4 of the siding, not all of the siding. There were no calls made until May, which *** had agreed to actually replace the siding with the material we had paid for. The siding was never vandalized and we had showed him 3 other houses in the neighborhood with the same issue. This is the reason we had the siding replaced in the first place and he had agreed to replace with quality material, which he had not. We will not be submitting a claim with our home insurance because this is a clear violation Indianas Home Improvements Contracts Act, this is not a home owners issue. It is an issue of installing the wrong material. The contract clearly states what we would receive and we did not receive the Shakes for the gables, the dumpter, or the DD4 siding. We will be moving forward with our attorney that will do whatever is necessary to thoroughly and aggressive defend this *************************************************************************************
