            Reserved a room on July 22 for 7/22-7/23 for $120.90. I canceled that room on July 22, same day I reserved. I spoke to a gentleman who said there was one person ahead of me, hed get it canceled, sorry he couldnt see us that evening, and if he had any questions hed call. He never called and I got charged the next day, 7/23. It posted 7/24. I called 7/23 and spoke to a young lady ***** who said shed been the one to charge me, shed talk to management, get it refunded, and get back to me. On 7/22 theyd had a manager walk out and the gentleman was covering the front desk and forgot to cancel or leave a note. The refund never posted and I never heard back. I called 8/1, spoke to ***** again and she said management said they werent going to refund me and apologized for them not calling me back. Shed call again. That was 8/1.

            Run. I have stayed in over ***** hotels around the world over the last 30 years. This has to be in the bottom 5. No desk in the room. No accessible outlets. Construction noise morning to night. Spotty internet. Very tired property. Joke of a breakfast. I was going to blame myself for inadequate research and roll with it until they ripped me off. Well in accordance with their policy, I gave two employees 72 and 60 hours advance notice of my early check out. I also had a virtual chat with Hotels.com at the 72 hours ***** When I went ahead and checked out early, I was told everything was fine and one night would be refunded. Then the deception, obfuscation, and disrespect started. So unprofessional. Such poor customer relations. This hotel has provided me with a pitiful case study for the business classes I teach and the books I write.

            Yes ***************, we remember you. You decided to tell us you had to cancel the final night of your stay the day of your final night. We told you sorry that was too late to receive a refund. You became verbally offensive to front desk staff, and, true to your word, you said if we didn't refund your money you would write a horrible review. Staff correctly told you that that was your option, but we would not be giving you a refund. You would have had to let us know that you were canceling at least the night before. The fact that you were so rude did not help your case. Again, you were extremely offensive to staff. This was totally unnecessary. Even so, Staff tried to verify that you had made some early attempt to cancel through Hotels.com, but there was no message from them. The only time staff heard from you was when you were berating the front desk at your departure. The other items on your complaint list are fabricated. There are accessible outlets in all rooms and although we are always improving and renovating the Cascades Inn, there was absolutely no construction near your room. As you were told, you would not be allowed to stay at Cascades Inn in the future.
