            On September 19, 2018 BBB received a call from a consumer claiming that a company, RonRim Services, LLC, had contacted him representing themselves as affiliates of both HP Computers and Webroot, Inc. After being allowed remote access to the consumers personal computer, RonRim Services, LLC attempted to delete software and drivers from the device and then request payment from the consumer for a subscription to the anti-virus software Webroot. On September 24, 2018, BBB contacted Webroot, Inc. and learned that they do not subcontract any technical support services. Webroot, Inc. does have a partner-seller program, but confirmed with BBB that RonRim Services, LLC was not one of their known affiliates.

            On 9/27/22 I was setting up my new laptop and I received an error message saying my internet was not secure and then Ronrim Servicess, LLC popped up and offered to help me. The cost for a 3 year contract to help me with my firewall, internet, security and all devises was $739.99 which they automatically took from my checking account. I have since tried to contract the company but the phone number doesn't work ************, I've called other numbers to no avail.I want my $739.99 refunded, please as they have breached their contract.Thank you.***************************

            I acquired a new MacBook Pro and also a product key for ***************** I attempted to upload office directly from the *********.com website as directed on the product key. The download failed and a chat box popped up; almost immediately I got a call and they said the software would not download because my computer was infected. I was skeptical but they were persistent. I then (stupidly) agreed to buy their software, and they set up Anydesk software. The next Day I contacted apple - they had never heard of this company and said the security software was unnecessary; they helped me remove all of their software. I am also going to challenge their billing. Hopefully this message is helpful. I would also like to complain about the ********* website; it is impossible to actually talk to a live person about this, but I will keep trying.
