I signed a contract with All Square General Contracting on November 16, 2023 to have my roof repaired. Gave them my $1,000.00 deposit and still have not received ANY ROOF REPAIR. I have corresponded with them many times and keep getting reasons why they are pushing off doing the work on my roof. I am done with the excuses for the last eight (8) months and need the job completed properly. My mortgage company is holding the money for this repair and are also asking me to get this completed.

We chose asr june 2018 to do the repairs on the roof . I already had the insurance estimate and check in my possession and during the discussion i made them aware there was a discrepancy on the estimate that resulteted in a ***** over payment and they said they wouldnt take that money and they would not charge for work i do (painting) .. then we ended up adding the siding to the job due to damage when job was done there were a few issues that were addressed and resolved untill it came to the bill . They were charging for work and products that were not done by them and they were charging for the full amount including the discrepancy that **** and ****** said they would not take . 12/2019 I ask for a more detailed bill and never recieve it. I have to take it on my own to go through the ins estimate and deduct what services were not done by them, and they recived payment for the rest. Forward to 2022 i get contacted by a lawyer *********************** on their behalf and they are seeking a unpaid balance of ***** after they removed all the charges that were not done which is the discrepancy overpaymant they were made aware of in the beginning . I send proof of over payment and reciept of payment and spoke with him and explained it to him on the phone he said if i dont hear back dont worry about the claim that was in march / april of 2022 . Now the first week of november i get a collections letter form a different collections company seeking almost **** dollars . Overpayment plus intrest and fees for them tryin to get the overpayment . And the over payment was the insurance company credited me for 21 turbine roof vents @ ****** ea for a total of ******** when i only had 2 for a total of ****** which leaves a positive balance to me of ******** which i sent them a additional 450 to cover the 98ft of ridge vent they wouldn't bill me for. Now its turned over to collections trying to get money and intrest for money they are not entitled to going on almost 5 years later ....

On May 2, 2022, I had a service rep come over to give me a quote for a small repair on my roof where I had damaged from the winter. I was quoted a price of $450.00 for the repair. I choose All Square due to them being local and their excellent rating from you. So I said I would go with them & gave half down as a deposit, which was $225.00. The rep said the work would be completed in 2-4 weeks, weather permitting. My check was cashed on June 8th. All of may contacts to see what is going on with the repair have been futile. Finally, this Friday, 8/26, a stranger was on my deck. I asked who are you and he said he is from All Square to measure my roof because nothing had been ordered. Unbelievable!! I told him just to leave and immediately called *********************, who is the person I was told to talk to initially and everytime I call. I can never get a hold of him nor does he return my calls. I then was given, this time, his cell and left a very detailed message that I just want this cancelled since my material were never ordered 4 months ago. And please just refund my $225.00 that you cashed. All I want is my deposit back. The aggravation is not worth the money.

Thats when *******, from the answering service, gave me ************************* personal cell number.  I left him a detailed message, again to no avail. I do not understand a business lying like that.  All I wanted back was my initial deposit since nothing was ordered or done or the fact that no one cared to even give me the courtesy of a response.  This really is upsetting because I have dealt in good faith with them and I DO NOT LIE!!  ********************;

Contract for roof was signed in June of 2019. Roof was installed shortly after. Leaking in our kitchen occurred that same year. Took 2 repairs to fix that issue. We just recently found rotted wood in our attic. Supposed to be honoring a 10 year warranty.

      06/06/2022

This customer had an issue above his bay window. All Square Roofing performed repairs twice to this location with no change in leak. Our Production Manager personally was on site both times, and we repaired the drywall twice. *********************** of ******** performed these repairs at no charge to customer.

Customer *****, his wife, and daughter were present when the actual problem was identified. The outside corner of the vinyl siding taking water and proved so during water testing, leak was never roof related it was cause by siding. We were not hired to perform any siding work at this property and water was getting into the house 8 ft above the roof line.

Customer is now blaming a bathroom/corrugated that he vented to the attic without an exhaust through the wall or roof creating condensation and degradation from the inside out not visible from the top side of the roof.To remedy this, the customer would need to hire us to remove the roof, replace the decking and install a broan vent. His cost was non warranty related.

We never had any issues with our original roof. We replaced the roof because it was 23 years old. So we hired All Square to replace it. We had a leak on the brand new roof with water coming into the Kitchen. So claims that it was our siding are false. Now the issues we have currently is rotted plywood on our roof. I have attached pictures and you can see that they put nails through rotted wood when in our contract it states plywood would be replaced if needed and the first 5 sheets of plywood were included in our plan.

      Thank you, ***************************

      Customer response

      06/17/2022

First off, I want to clarify that we never had any issues with leaking until right after the roof was replaced by All Square Roofing. The leaking in the kitchen was not from a siding issue because it directly happened right after the roof was completed. The new issue is we have found rotted wood in our attic. I have attached photos and you can see that they put nails through rotted wood. In the contract it states that any rotted plywood would be replaced.  The first 5 sheets of plywood were supposed to be included in the price. The bathroom vent was never moved so if that was the problem it would have been rotted long before replacing the roof. We are in and out of our attic multiple times a year.

On 06-23-21, I gave a check in the amount of $25,000.00 to the sale representative from All Square Roofing in the name of ************************* from my insurance proceeds. Check number ****. Part of the check was for the replacement of my roof, in the amount of $15,000.00 and the remanding $10,000.00 was to order building materials to replace my house siding. The product to be utilized was LP siding diamond coat. All work was to be completed by 09-07-21. The siding was never started and the job never started. The order was not place until November 2021. The decision was made to install the siding this year in spring. I have tried many times to get this scheduled. ***************** the General Manager does not return my texts. My calls are not returned either. I get a total run around. ************************* the sales representative has blocked my phone calls and phone number and is now in *******. Business response

      06/20/2022

This entire situation pains me that **************** has gotten to this point.  The check that was received by All Square is not in dispute and we did receive the $25,000 as a partial payment for all work to be performed at ******************** residence.  His breakdown of the payment was not outlined in any way shape or form as he makes it appear in his complaint.  All work was to be completed by the date that he outlined in his complaint, however **************** did not even finalize and update his contract with the correct siding color until October 21, 2022.  After meeting with ******* on October 21, 2022 we found out that the siding would be in on 11/26/2021. After discussions with ******* it was determined that it would be better to complete the siding in the Spring of 2022 due to the poor weather conditions and not wanting to complete a poor installation.  At that same time ******* wanted us to hold off on a shingle repair until the spring as well that he had asked us to complete because instead of going with our recommended ***** ******* Duration, he wanted to go with ***** shingles from ******* due to a streak free warranty and because of that there were dye lot issues that he wanted us to correct.  Fast forward to May of 2022.  We had ********* siding scheduled to go and unfortunately we are in an unrelated dispute with the supplier that we had ordered the siding through and had the siding lined up to be ordered through a different supplier.  The new supplier has a new protocol on how we are to order special order siding and we needed to confirm the color and specifications to proceed with the order and that was dropped off to ******* by an All Square representative.  Instead of moving forward with the selection, ******* called in to the office and stated he felt All square was going out of business and that is why we were not completing his siding because of conversations he had with our old supplier.  All Square is NOT going out of business and furthermore still have an outstanding balance for work that was completed in September of 2021.  ******* has filed suit against All Square to which we will be countersuing for our balance owed for the repairs completed as well as for services rendered under a service agreement that ******* was well aware of.  I have attached 4 documents which should help to outline the scenario and disprove most of what ******* is claiming. It is very unfortunate it has come to this, but I can assure anyone that All Square has done everything in our power to help ******* and have the emails of praise from ******* to prove that.
      Thank you

      06/21/2022

I am rejecting this response because:
The information on their resonance is untrue and unfounded. This challenge has been going on for over a year. They had the color of the siding back in May 2021. All Square never even ordered the building material until October 2021. I verified this information with their supplier. ***************** never answered any of my calls or texts. The sale representative *****  ******* even blocked my number as to not receive any calls from me. It is entirely their fault that the work was never started and they breached the contract. I was given multiple start dates that never materialized. All Square didn't complete their commitment. I want to move forward with my legitimate complaint!  Buyer be ****!!

On 8/17/20 All Square Roofing was contracted to replace roof shingles and gutters damaged by hail at **************. (Claim #**********). Work was completed and paid in full about 3 months later. Weeks later during first heavy rain after roof replacement, rain water was pouring down interior wall and roof of attached garage. ASR was notified and months later ,attempts were made to correct problem. Once again, months later after heavy rains the leak is still happening and causing damage to garage interior drywall. Once again ASR attempts to patch this new roof. They then send someone to repair water damaged drywall and they show up late in the day with no materials and commence tear out damage with no regard for surrounding. By now its December 2021. Warm temps.causing snow on roof to melt, water pouring in from same places. Now its March2022. ASR installs a bunch of flashing and replaces some shingles. During this process they dropped bundles of materials on roof so hard it caused cracks in vaulted ceiling. I was told they would contact me soon to schedule follow up inside repairs. Ive called ASR three times and they say they will call me back and never do. Now they just ignore me. This is a result of inferior work from the start and ASR continues to follow up using the cheapest method and subcontractors to resolve the issue. All Im asking for is a roof that doesnt leak and repair of damages

This complaint is in regards to my original complaint #******** which is not resolved. On 4/18/22 ASR Field supervisor ************** assured me that work would be done in two weeks from that day. ASR called me and scheduled 4/23/22 to replace damaged shingles and and some more flashing on roof. They failed to show up or call to cancel, or answer my calls. On 4/25/22 I get a call from someone ASR had call me to schedule repair and replacement of damaged drywall in garage area. They told me they would come on Fri. 4/29/22 but could not finish that day and didnt give a completion date. He was unaware of interior repairs that were agreed upon also. When I told this person that the roof repairs still havent been done he said he would have to wait until that work is completed. He ***** called and scheduled a crew for Sat. Morning 4/23/22 to address roof issues. Nobody showed up or called. My calls were not answered. I visited the main office in Chesterton and spoke with Loui who happens to be the person I spoke with on the 18th meeting at my house. He informed me that he was leaving the company and That *** would be handling things from here. *** called Tuesday morning 4/26/22 and scheduled 2:30 that same day for a crew to come address roof issues. At 1:30pm a labor shows up to drop off material and couldnt tell me when or if he would return to do the repairs. He refused my request to speak with his supervisor and my calls were not answered. After my visit to their office on 4/26/22 I received a call from **** and scheduled another meeting to discuss how to resolve this problem. On Friday 4/29/22 at 10:00am my wife and daughter intervened for me and sat down to discuss what needs to be done. The cause of complaints are about the overall appearance and lack quality finish in other areas. **** **** messaged after meeting that he would follow up on Monday with proposed start date 5/9ish. No word from All Square Roof as of yet. There is still drywall repair that need attention. I cannot stress enough how shady this company is (after the work is done). Our **** had NUMEROUS inaccuracies that many people probably would not even notice unfortunately, which is one way this company makes money hand over foot. We received our invoice nearly a YEAR after the work was completed (even though I contacted them three times asking about our ****/remaining balance--they were always "still working through supplemental things with insurance"). Eleven months later in April 2021, we received our first invoice via email with a date of DECEMBER 2020. I emailed instantly and said: 1. It's April 2021--fix this invoice date, please, and 2. This **** is not even close to what we owe. I sent them a document with all the discrepancies and price differences and asked that these things be addressed. We were charged for things like METAL ridge vents at nearly $600, but they used PLASTIC (we took photos)--a $500 difference. We would not have even caught this error and overcharge had my husband not needed to go onto the roof after we added an addition to our home months after the roof was done in May 2020. When we saw the ****, he was like, "Umm, what?! They aren't metal." That's what set off taking a closer look in general. They charged us for "an additional dumpster needed to haul away gutters"...except they didn't even do our gutters and never needed an 'extra' dumpster. The list goes on and on. I wonder how many people have had the same setup and unknowingly just paid what they thought they owed because they don't know any better and trust that the **** is correct. We have a ton of neighbors who, after taking a closer look, noticed issues, too. One of our neighbors was told if she left three positive reviews for the company they would remove a charge they said she owed for canceling a gutter re-do. She had never canceled anything and they never completed her gutters. This company commits insurance fraud. I have clear proof and MANY others who will testify the same.

      Business response

We appreciate the customers perspective, but strongly disagree with her description of our experience together. Unfortunately, the billing is slow during this process with insurance and supplementing approval by the insurance company. If there were any typos in the invoicing process, we apologize, but that does not change the amount the insurance has paid the customer. The customer was supposed to forward us a copy of the revised paperwork in a timely matter, and forward us the payment from the insurance company as well. This process was not meant to be for profit for the customer. We currently show a remaining balance of $90.87, which we will write off as a show of good faith.

After a hail storm damaged our house last ******* **************** referred All Square Roofing to replace my roof and spouts on my house. Work was completed on September 15. They did a good job. But, I was told they would pay me $200 for putting their business sign in my yard and $200 for each customer referral. I worked with ************************* from the All Square ********** office. They had the sign in my yard for a couple of months and I referred my neighbor to them. ***** came to my house on either Oct. 4th or 5th to pick up the sign and said he would request my $400 payment. To date I have not been able to get this payment. After I followed up with ***** on October 25 he texted me that he had requested my payment but I have heard nothing else. I also checked with ***************************** in their Harbor, IN office three times in October without any luck. She said she would get back to me after she checked with ***** but I am still waiting to hear from her.
