The area manager, ***************************** has fined me, sent several harassing letters including 1 from their attorney and threatened eviction for violating a rule not listed on the lease. I attempted to inform her of what the lease stated but she replied management has the right to change the rules. Afterwards I was informed by staff that she didnt like the curtainsas to why I was forced to remove them, which is very clear because other residents currently have patio fixtures similar to curtains, like screened in patios top to bottom. Management is abusing her authority because there are procedures to follow when updating terms of a lease i.e an addendum etc. and I feel like my housing status and resident rights are at jeopardy because she clearly isnt acting in a professional manner but off of emotions and personal preferences.

Im filing a complaint against the apartment complex where I use to reside. I gave notice back in April 2021 to the leasing office letting them know I would not be renewing my lease. The sale agent gave me a form to complete letting me know the pro rated amount I need to pay in August. The pro rated rent was paid and all keys were turned in. The unit was clean and everything was removed out of the unit. Ive called and stopped by numerous of times inquiring about my security deposit. Ive spoke with the property manager in charge several times and she is making excuses. I asked her today on January 27,2022 again about my deposit and another excuse. When I asked her about the corporate number she told me she doesnt have it. Its been five months since I moved and havent received my security deposit.

**************** sold this property on 6-10-21 so we would not have been the owners at the time of her move out.  She will need to contact the current owner/management company.

      Thank you

      To whom it may concern:

Stone Haven Apartments was purchased by Pedcor Homes in June of 2021. While we acknowledge that ****************** did provide a notice of her intent to vacate to the former owners, ****************, the pro rate provided on the Acknowledgement of Notice of Intent to Vacate provided by ****************** was for vacating the property on August 4, 2021. As shown on the Final Move Out Acknowledgement Form, ****************** did not vacate the property until August 16, 2021 which increased the pro rate owed from $128.39 to $525.33. ****************** was also responsible for a $50 late fee, pro rated utilities for the month of August as well as a balance from the previous month's charges.

Attached is the Security Deposit Disposition Form which provides a breakdown of charges and shows that the Security Deposit was applied to charges owed at move out. This was mailed to ****************** at the forwarding address provided at move out. The Property Manager spoke with ****************** on Thursday, January 27th and scheduled a meeting to discuss the charges and balance owed on Friday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. but ****************** failed to appear for the meeting.

We are more than willing to discuss the charges with ******************, however, the balance is owed and her account has been sent to collections. She can contact the Regional Manager, *******************************, at ********************************** if she wishes to escalate her complaint to corporate. ****************** is also encouraged to contact ********** regarding the balance owed.

      Regards,

      *****************************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] On April 15, 2021 I received a notice on my door to renew my lease in August. At that time, I went to the office and spoke with Mrs. ****** in regards of me planning on vacating the property at the end of my lease agreement. Mrs. ****** gave me the acknowledgment of notice of intent to vacate. On August 2, 2021, I went into the rental office and Mrs. ****** told me my prorated rent will be $128.39 then I turned in my keys. She informed me if I turned the key in early my prorated amount will change unless I submitted them on August 16, 2021. On the 16th of August I went to turn in my keys and had a notice on my door. 5 days notice to pay rent. This was posted after I paid the prorated amount I was told to pay. I ask about this notice and was told to disregard. As you can see its saying I owe $935.61 which the keys were turned in as instructed by the assistant property manager. Ive called them several times in regards to my security deposit. It has been past the 14 day which by law it should have been returned. On July 23, 2021 I closed on my home and had no intention on holding the keys. The reason the keys were kept in my possession is because I was told not to turn them in until the 16th of August.
      Regards,

      Regar
