This occurred October 17 & 18, 2022. We took our car in for an oil change and to fix a passenger window that would not roll up or down but you could hear the motor running. We called and got a scheduled appt within a week. When we arrived after scheduling the appt with whom I can only assume is the owner, *****, we arrived & they had no record of the window repair we needed. I arrived back to the shop in the afternoon and found our car outside with the window up. I assumed it was finished. Upon entering I found they would have to order the part and could repair it the next day. Part estimate $400. I then asked if the car could be kept inside the shop overnight in case the window dropped into the door again. I was told "we move ALL the cars into the shop at night and also our supply trucks too. Any high end cars in the lot can have their catalytic converters taken." I thought this was horrible and not something a good business would tell a customer. He talked about what they do and why for a couple of minutes. I then left for the day. My husband was called at 11:00 the following morning and was told the car was finished. I went out to pay the bill in the afternoon and was given a bill for $1004!!! The part was less than the $400 estimate but the cost of 5 hrs of labor was $663!! I was stunned but paid it. My husband and I came back around 6:00 p.m. and picked the car up. The shop was closed and I counted 15 cars and trucks our in the lot!! Including 2 Audi's!! They lied right to my face about locking the cars in the shop at night!! My husband who is very mild mannered and the most laid back person I know., called to get an itemized breakdown of the bill. Asked questions about the outrageous cost and was told the labor they charge is $119 per hour!! While my husband was trying to discuss the issue with ***** HIMSELF, ******************* up on him!! It was rude, unprofessional and we were NEVER told an estimate other than for the part or I would have gone elsewhere!!

      Customer response

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The written note that the car had "******" miles on it!!!" if ***** could only read his own paperwork, the "odometer out was ******". This car is 17 years old, only driven for short distances, around **** miles or so put on it in that said year! We bought the car used initially with more than ****** miles on it. Ridiculous!!  Secondly, the tires were NOT ROTATED as they say they did! Third, the motor on the window was working, the regularator was not. I was the one who gave the verbal ok to change that piece which is one of the reasons we brought the car in  in the first place. NO ONE informed us the motor needed to be changed! Not that I will authorize him to charge us another exaggerated *****, but a place in business such as this should be able to ADD! They charged us and we paid an outrageous sum of $1004 dollars but if you add up the itemized bill it comes to $1009.49 and with tax, would be more than that.  $360.28 for parts and a whopping $643.72  for labor for an oil change and a regulator. Wow! Again as an RN with 40 years of experience, I don't make half that in wages. Perhaps I should look into training to be a mechanic! We NEVER received the itemized bill you received. Would have at least appreciated getting this copy from them at time of service. I have no idea if at this time they can charge us the extra money but if by chance that could or would happen, I will be talking to a lawyer. Terrible business...
      Regards,
