Husband *********************** went to 24/7 dental in ************ for an emergency visit for tooth pain. They proposed a treatment planned which included a filling on a baby tooth, root canal and crown. All of which **** agreed to. They then added more fillings and another extraction on the plan that **** did not agree to but they made him pay in full up front or he could not get seen. **** paid the amount disclosed to get care but I, his wife called to 24/7 dental in ************ to figure out why he paid for treatment he did not nor would he be receiving. He agreed to the filling on a baby tooth and the root canal and crown. Front desk initially argumentative with me when I said anyone will sign and pay when you tell them they could not get help unless paid in full. Finally was able to get a call from a manager who then said a refund would be initiated in 2 weeks from the date of service. 2 weeks from the date of service go by, no refund to the care credit card they charge nor a refund on the bank account used to pay another portion. Call again to follow up, manager then states they are waiting for insurance to pay. A full month goes by with no call or refund I call to follow up they state insurance has not paid. I called our insurance who then verifies they paid out 2/17/24 to 24/7 dental. It is not currently 3/27/2024 I call 24/7 dental again to follow up after receiving a collections call from care credit because the account is behind now and see no refund to the card. Receptionist states we had an account balance of $1800, i informed her no he paid in full for services he did not get and was supposed to be refunded. Was placed on hold then told sorry the manager will have to call back. As far as we are concerned they have scammed us out of money and refusing to refund over payment for services that were not performed.

24/7 Dental **** *************** Columbus, ******* ***** *********************** Office Manager The staff informed me that my insurance would cover some of the costs, and I would only be responsible for a portion of it. I paid my portion, thinking that was the end of it. However, a few weeks later, I received a bill saying I owed the total amount. I understand that dealing with insurance can be complicated for healthcare providers. Still, staff should only provide information that they know to be accurate. The lack of proper training or understanding of the insurance world can negatively impact low-income individuals. An unexpected bill of this magnitude can significantly affect someone's financial situation. The "No Surprises Act" which was passed in 2022 has been created to prevent situations similar to the one described above. If you take a look at the ****** reviews, you will find that this agency has a history of providing incorrect information to patients regarding their insurance coverage. When I reached out to the office manager seeking assistance, I was told that they were unable to help me.

      In responce of  complaint #********:

************************* came in for a procedure that had a waiting period. On the Insurance breakdown it does not state that this patient has a waiting period. On the signed treatment plan it does state " Please note that all insurance and patient portions are estimates. We do our best to give the best estimate of what insurance provides us on the breakdown to the patient before we start any procedure, so they do not have a surprise balance that is due.
