      My son tried out for the **** Five Star Great Lakes Travel Baseball and made the team. We were asked to review the handbook prior to accepting the offer. Based on the handbook, we accepted and paid monthly payments that totaled $3,000. His off season training started in November and lasted until the season started in April. The practices were disciplined and well organized as promised in the handbook. However the organizations mission is to recruit **************** and place them in highly competitive opportunities to achieve principle-based success which was not the case. We are halfway through the season and have lost to the ********* rule 11 out of 14 games. My son finally quit the team since it was mentally exhausting losing by double digits almost every game. I reached out to the director requesting a partial refund since they did not offer ** ANY competitive opportunities and he declined. In the handbook, they also stated April-July is tournament and league play. We did not play in any leagues. Only tournaments on the weekend. We have played only 14 games compared to other local travel teams that have played ***** games at this point in the season.

      The Great Lakes Sports Hub is a venue that rents space to a travel baseball organization that the complainant plays for (as well as several other teams and organizations). The great lakes sports hub is not directly involved in any of the operations of that, or any other, organization that uses and/or rents the facility.

      That being said, with knowledge of the situation, I can say that the travel baseball organization has done everything within its power to uphold the standard and plans for each player and team. I understand that the results of the team are not ideal, but unfortunately that happens sometimes and we encourage players to continue to play hard and be process driven. The off-season training (November to March was run by professional instructors. There is a full tournament schedule in place. The results of tournament play can result in fewer games and I will take responsibility for the tournament schedule, which as it turns out, might be a little too tough for the team. Schedules get made several months in advance, so there was no real way of knowing he level the team would be at, but either way, I take responsibility for making the schedule. As for league play, the team (and others in our organization) were registered for a league that canceled at the last minute. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do about that. Full uniforms were distributed. We do understand the frustration with the results of the team, but we also believe that we trained and developed *********** throughout our off-season program to help them grow significantly.

       Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and realize that the organization will not offer me a partial refund even though they failed to deliver the services promised which was off season training AND competitive opportunities. 

      I have decided to no longer pursue a complaint since it is not worth my time and stress. It is very unfortunate that we wasted thousands of dollars on a team that was doomed from the beginning.
