Avoid Cline Ave bridge at all costs!! It is a scam. There is no way to pay the toll while passing through without ezpass. They mail you a bill for double the cost?! I tried emailing ahead of getting it in the mail and they want me to give a lot of personal information through email. This is ridiculous!!!

The Cline Avenue Bridge, like many other tolling facilities across multiple states, offers discounted toll rates to E-ZPass users. These discounts are made possible because E-ZPass transactions incur lower administrative costs compared to Pay by Mail, which involves additional processing and handling.
To help customers avoid these added charges and ensure more efficient travel, we strongly encourage the use of an E-ZPass, which provides access to the lowest available toll rates.
Regarding your concern about the personal information requested, we understand your hesitation. However, to accurately locate an account and provide proper assistance, we require specific details such as the name of the registered vehicle owner, the license plate number, and the mailing address associated with the vehicle. Without this information, it is not possible for us to verify or access account records in compliance with privacy and security standards.
As always, we remain committed to providing the highest level of customer service. Please contact us if you have any questions.

It is a scam. They sent me information about a toll balance due, and then I talked to them on the phone, it turned out that they were referring to my deceased father's car. They have partial info and are trying to get money based on it. Unbelievable.

I've received 2 toll notices for a license plate number that is not mine for a ****** that I do not own. The first time it happened, I called and a woman helped and "checked" and said she would remove the charge because it wasn't mine. Today I called because the second notice is for this mystery vehicle and I called expecting them to take care of it. Unfortunately I spoke to a "******" and he says I'll have to file a dispute and give them "title information" to prove I don't own the car. I asked if he could even tell me what kind of car it is and he said a model of ****** which I have never had any kind of ******. I explained this was the 2nd time this had happened and that they took care of it last time but suddenly now "******" can't do anything about because if they open a case it'll just come back to me. What does that even mean? That's not my vehicle and you're not taking my money for it.

If I could give no stars I would. I received a letter from the **************** say that my registration is on hold due to a Toll not paid for the Cline Avenue Bridge. I haven't received any communication from Cline Avenue Bridge about this toll not being paid other than the letter I received from the State. They said they have sent 4 letters to my address, but I received none. So a $6 toll goes to $55 on the assumption that I got them. When I contacted them to discuss the issue they verify my info and ask for a phone number in case we get disconnected. 5 mins into the conversation we are disconnected. I wait for call and guess what? NO call back!!!!!!! This company wants me to believe they sent me 4 notices when they cant even call me back after I just gave them my number 5 minutes ago. I have no issue paying the toll, but the fees and fines absolutely not. I have the ** Pass and it shows no recorded of the day in question. They have a great little scam they are running. Because I guess if they said they sent the notices their word is the last one.

This is fraud, an illegitimate business, its a scam, they should be shut down immediately. They are intimidating people and collecting private information for who knows what purpose, they can't identify themselves, and have no evidence that you were even at a toll booth. They are not affiliated with any government agency and they have a PO box in *********** to send your checks too? C'mon man, arrest these fraudsters.

How to rake in a bunch of money - Build a bridge and require only EZ Pass type payment (no toll booths) then run out of town travelers over your bridge without prominent signage or warnings that your toll is required to be paid online if you don't have one of those devices Then charge fees in the amount of 3x the actual toll. I hope the locals know your special rules, because the casual traveler does not. Very shady operation.

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns. We are committed to operating with the highest levels of integrity and transparency. To ensure that drivers are aware they are driving on an electronic tolled facility, we have posted toll notification signage in advance of every entry point to our bridge; you can see our signage at https://www.clineave.com/signage. We are an all-electronic tolling facility to make travel fast and efficient for our customers and we don't issue tickets. We recommend our customers obtain an E-ZPass or I-Pass. This allows drivers a fast and efficient way to manage toll expenses at a lower toll rate.

Yesterday, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My transponder was working perfectly on June 22, 2022, and used to charge three tolls in *******. I received a notice in late July from CAB stating a toll was not paid. IL IPass advised me that one of the three tolls paid on June 22 was for CAB. I sent a note to CAB stating this. They sent a bill for the toll and for a $20 admin charge. I sent another note. They sent a new bill for $40 in admin plus the toll. I called two days ago, was told to contact IL IPass, get proof my transponder was funded and working on toll date. Moreover, they said they just received my first note yesterday. Ah, it took 2 and 1/2 months to get to them? Furthermore, they said my admin fees will be waived and toll reduced to $2.50, if I do all this. I offered to pay on the spot to be done, but no, hoops must be jumped through first. I'll do the hoops once my complaints get recorded but drivers must be aware: ************ likes folks who'll pay those admin fees without question. And, I'll bet, many drivers simply pay those fees rather than suffer any further intimidation. They smell like hustlers, these CAB folks.

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns. I-Pass was contacted on your behalf to verify if the toll transaction was deducted from your account. The investigation determined the transponder was not detected, nor was your license plate listed on the I-Pass account at the time of travel. We were also informed the Cline Avenue Bridge toll did not post to your I-Pass account on June 22, 2022. It is highly recommended to contact I-PASS to ensure that your account information is up to date, so this situation does not occur again. As always, we remain committed to providing the highest level of customer service. Please contact us if you have any questions.

BEWARE POTENTIAL SCAM I received a notice that I didn't pay a toll but my credit card clearly has a charge from ITR CLINE AVE TOLLS. I talked to customer service and they immediately started asking for personal information. After I refused to share out of fear of a scam, I was told to dispute it with my bank as they don't have a toll booth. A toll road without a toll booth? And if the answer is that AVE is different than Bridge then, the inconsistency in operations doesn't add up. Additionally, the picture is just of the back of my car. It could have been taken anywhere. Driving into *******, I was forced to stop at an absurd amount of toll booths. I don't understand how I would have missed one. If they are running a toll road without toll booths then, they still need to stop each car for consent. I'm driving a car in a high traffic area with semi trucks that block views. A small sign on the side of the road can't be assume as consent from the driver that I agree to pay the toll.Even if this is a real company, their business practice is a scam and they should not be allow to operate in this manner. This company clearly doesn't understand ethics.I really don't know how to proceed but, I'm scared of the consequences if I don't pay and I really don't have the time and energy to fight over $5 which plays right into this scam. Maybe Paypal provides the most protection? I'm not sure but, I definitely don't want to give them my bank account numbers or credit card numbers.Better Business Bureau, please stop this unethical business practice.
